Hey guys, I'm guessing there are updates afoot as I've been forcibly logged out a couple times this morning. Just wanted to let you know: I have images turned off in my preferences but they are currently showing up in threads anyway.

Or possibly only tweets are displaying?

Yes, rolling out some updates today. I seem to have introduced a bug where logged-in users with images off still see tweets, but I can't see where! Will take another look this evening

put it on github and make the complainer do a pull request imo

I have Show Images on, but I never see pictures from embedded tweets, just a link to pic.twitter.com. Is this a bug or by design?

I think that's a Twitter thing — there's some setting on their site that affects it. Also some AdBlock can interfere with them too.

Ah yes, uBlock Origin was blocking all third-party domains. Now I see not just the images, but the entire tweet in Twitter-style. Thanks!

Hang on, is that possible? I have redirects like "ilm.ilxor.com" set up at DNS level, but they swallow all the sub-paths, so if I did it on www I'd lose all the other URLs, no?

is it behind a reverse proxy/load balancer? that's where I'd set up the forward, imo. not sure why there's a transition page

It was originally there (it’s been there for years) so that I could redirect without forcing a particular domain choice. But I guess I can do that in htaccess

you can set up bare to www or www to bare (with CNAME's iirc, but it's been a while).

i'm not sure i understand the setup here, but i don't see why having other top-level names (ilm etc.) would change things.

This a small thing in the greater ilx scheme of things, but if it is simple to fix I would be very appreciative:

I had bookmarked the "have you ever masturbated in front of a woman thread," which I came to regret several posts later but failed to remove the bookmark before the thread was poofed. So the thread title still shows up in my bookmarks. The thread gave me the creeps and seeing the title every time I open ILX kinda sucks for me. I can certainly deal with it if the fix is a pain in the ass, but if it is a quick and simple thing, I'd love for you to remove this ghost of poorly formed threads past.

does checking the box next to it in bookmarks and hitting remove not kill it?

I had that shameful issue too, but somehow I got rid of it.
