I have never understood the level of antipathy some people here feel towards the mods. It often feels a little "oh, there goes mom again, tryin' to keep us from burning down the house and killing one another, way to go Hitler" to me.

He didn't have a legitimate grievance. I legitimately threadbanned* him from a thread where he was screwing around with someone's government name who has repeatedly asked not to have people play fast and loose with their government name. tbh, I shouldn't have backed down about it, but I was trying to be nice and let him down easy with a yellowcard*. Public thanks to stet though for sticking up for me. I have no idea how this spawned so many threads and revivals full of quivering meltdown, but seemingly that's what happens any time a mod does anything other than fix a broken youtube link.
