Going to c&p gr8080's post from the Milk Carton thread, since it's an issue he has mentioned here before and other posters have been griping about the problem in various threads.

the only way ilx will embed a youtube video is if you use the

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=

format. but youtube has tons of different ways to display urls, and recently the default became

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=

several other mesage boards have a [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=[/youtube]

tag, but we dont

There used to be a cool feature where when you'd bookmarked a thread it would send you back to the top of the page. Too many people disliked it so it got dumped but I really miss it, it mirrors my behavior exactly. Please pretty please can there be something in the preferences to turn it on or off, default off for those who don't like change? It work or save me a lot of annoying scrolling on my phone.

Stet, darraghmac proposed returning the name of Flag Post back to the original Suggest Ban. He feels that the renaming has had a deleterious effect on the slasher film-like, "who will be the next to die get banned" atmosphere of ilx that he deeply cherished.

it seems like there's activity on ilm to me

that's basically how i break logs down to an interesting extent

i keep getting timeouts. site will stop responding, just sit there with the throbber throbbing. it's quite a frequent thing, several times an hour. last time was just then - 14:43 to 14:44 (BST)

(windows 7, firefox)

I have just got an Xperia Z2 Android and it's behaving really oddly.

It loads ILX in Chrome, but has done so on an old setting - it's got a previous display name, isn't registering new bookmarks and doesn't update bookmarks or accept bookmarks updates. I've cleared the cache with no effect.

Any ideas?

Whilst we're on youtube embeds, they haven't been displaying on iPad safari and chrome for a while. it might be a problem with the css, I can get it to occur in chrome or safari with old.css, new.css and newold.css. Where the youtube should be you just get whitespace.

Stet how many regular users does ILE and ILM get each day?

Taking yesterday because it's easy, there were:

11,078 unique IPs visiting ILE
13,896 unique IPs visiting ILM

(Some of those IPs represent big blocks of users, though - eg the whole NHS shows up as one IP)

Also, I know you have said before you can tell 90% of users use SNA, but can you tell how many SNA users have it so they cant see anything from ILM?

Add around 4500 Zing users to that regular users total as well (double !!, though they're mostly Zing Free. That'd have been a really great pint, otherwise).

I started one as an into to android programming until I realised how much work it was going to be and how much easier it would be just to change the stylesheet to alleviate all my niggles - stuff like making the bookmark link bigger and easier to hit, fixing the tiny text box and menus...

search by 'thread title' could use a 'most recently updated' option

That would be a useful feature.

people have talked about this in the past, i'm pretty sure, but it might be cool to think about letting us hide threads. like, not sure how many people would use it or if i would want to use it, but it might, might work

it would also probably change the dynamics of the board at least a little
