Makes me recall one of my most humiliating moment. Was in New York at some posh Hamptons do and saw this really nice dog. Said to the owner (at the packed dinner table mind) - "what kind of dog is that?". Response - "that's a pedigree coon hound".....pause.....and then I asked it "would that be from slavery times, were they used to hunt slaves?"...........cue total silence followed by "err, no - they are used to hunt raccoons".
