Karl, I think it'd be good form to warn about what's under the hidden text marker, and also consider if your NSFW image is really necessary. Personally I'd prefer an external link to NSFW images with an explanation of what you'll see if you click on it. To answer your actual question, though, I'm not sure if the thread would need a NSFW marker or not if you hide the image, I'd probably keep it there as a content warning but I'm not completely sure it'd be warranted.

Karl, I would have to check but I don’t think the loading of the image is dynamic, just the display. So if part of NSFW images is that your employer/whoever logs where images are coming from, then that’ll be logged regardless of whether it’s displayed on your monitor

Yeah, that was a 51. And just before we reset the totals, too. I only ever really saw Left posts that had been flagged and tbh I frequently agreed with the main thrust of them, but jeez that person seemed to be aggressive for no reason.

actually I might have fp'd Left in the past 6 months. For a while my primary FP policy was to flag posts of the "ILX sucks and I hate everyone here" genre, and Left definitely had a streak of those back in the spring. tbh I hadn't really been bothered by him recently

I thought Left was an ideological sock -- a more well-constructed, articulate, and prolific version of such former socks as "bestbuy" and "bestbuy2"

He was giving examples of "edgelord" tropes without thinking to moderate his language, so basically he was tossing off slurs. There was other stuff to it but the slurs part was what got it redacted.

He was the poster I was talking about when I said he was the only one who was anywhere near 51 and he was really trying. His posts were also the sort of thing I was talking about when I said "blunt political challops or widespread condescension of the "I alone see what you idiots all refuse to admit" variety".

It was mostly the "fuck you all and your white supremacist nation" type posts that did it fwiw, posts barking at people rather than talking to them. From IP lookups he doesn't appear to be a sock.
