This is an awesome top 5. I think I might like British rap better than US rap. The SBTRKT remix of Pass Out is also amazing.

Every week the magazines displayed at the checkout line at my local supermarket are filled with ALL NEW heartwarming stories or shocking news about various A-list and B-list celebrities, surefire weight loss tips, quizzes that reveal secrets about you, photos of cute pets, alien visitations, etc. and I don't care about any of it.

I did notice that 9 out of the 25 albums I voted for were made by middle-aged women and briefly wondered whether that was me getting old and calcified but then I realised no one else, old or young, is much repping for those middle-aged women so it's more down to patriarchy

idk is it that, supersmug hyperawareness of sthing is not necessarily the same thing as self congratulation on same, tho obv the nagging tone taken towards the rest of the participants in a poll that was not about that thing is a layered delight that kinda defies accurate classification I guess one can only kot or sodh

Email your reply under the subject heading “Moment of Dishness” to d✧✧✧@andrewsulli✧✧✧.c✧✧ and we’ll post some for tomorrow morning. Please keep your response under 100 words (about twice the length of this post) so we can read as many as we can. Points for esoteric or embarrassing moments.

We went for drinks in the Woolwich Equitable afterwards, the building society premises transformed into a pub, keeping much of the old decor and the curiously lofty, incongruous room shape...it was great, but if that's gentrification then it's a very strange, counterintuitive gentrification, with cheap drinks and an extremely unpretentious selection of books adding to the sense of haphazard improvisation. Posh gastropub it is not - its grandeur feels democratic and accidental, like anyone could walk in and feel at home. They didn't even have a beer menu!
