Watching games live via gameday when youre out and about and not near a tv, video highlights from same games, and having the ability to tune into radio broadcasts whenever you want is pretty dope.

Can't tell if it has "local" games blacked out during the reg. season.

It works and does pretty much exactly what it says it does, whether it's worth it to you just depends. I worked a job where I was making deliveries 8 hours a day in a town 1,500 miles away from Chicago, so having the WGN Cubs radio feed was absolutely essential.

For the radio, 3G works just fine, though it'll drain the battery.

i don't think you even need WiFi for live game video!! (though the quality is worse on 3G iirc)

the only reason i was going to get it was for the local radion broadcast so i could listen in my backyard via my backyard speakers...but i can just as easily broadcast the tv through those.

word re: 3g. I was wondering about that because why road trips

there's no radio blackouts.. but pretty sure there are video blackouts if you use the app to watch whole games..

nine years pass...

wow that last question is a time capsule. 10 years and 10 versions of iOS later...

the “picture in picture” ability of MLB TV via the app - which lets you do other things like WRITE THIS POST while the video plays in a corner of the screen - is an absolutely killer bit of functionality
