Poll: What is your jersey #?

I know this looks tedious but give it some thought, what # would you pick for your jersey and why or whom would you choose it.

Inspired by my slowpitch softball beer league.

I chose #12 (tho that's not my number this year) because when I was getting into baseball (circa 1990), Ellis Burks was my favorite Red Sox playa.

David R., Tuesday, 12 June 2007 16:11 (nineteen years ago)

say hey 24 too obvious?

bnw, Tuesday, 12 June 2007 16:17 (nineteen years ago)

I voted for #99 since that was my favorite player in NBA Live

Pleasant Plains, Tuesday, 12 June 2007 16:59 (nineteen years ago)

99 - "the great one"

23 high school football jersey number and subsequently all jerseys since, plus Jackie Robinson on the KC Monarchs, Rickie Weeks, Michael Jordan, etc.

Dimension 5ive, Tuesday, 12 June 2007 18:04 (nineteen years ago)

47 when it was available. Initials, four-letter first name, seven-letter last name, Tom Gordon, not Jack Morris. Probably wore every number from 1-18 (except 5, 13 and 15) at one point. Once wore 14 for Miroslav Frycer (or it was the only one left).

Andy K, Tuesday, 12 June 2007 19:22 (nineteen years ago)

In little league I was #10. I played 1B and Leon Durham wore #10. Obviously I was setting high standards for myself.

I was -13 in intramural high school basketball, which is something I'm pretty proud of but is dangerously close to off-topic here.

mattbot, Tuesday, 12 June 2007 19:35 (nineteen years ago)

8 - lucky #

Rock Hardy, Tuesday, 12 June 2007 19:54 (nineteen years ago)

The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Tuesday, 12 June 2007 20:50 (nineteen years ago)

I'm wearing 27 for my softball team, but that's just what I was given. I always wore (or wanted to wear) 21, 'cause Clemens was my favorite player growing up ;_;

(I actually, in a parent-inspired bit of pathetic dreaming, invited the rocket to my bar mitzvah. He didn't come, but he did sign the reply card!)

G00blar, Tuesday, 12 June 2007 21:32 (nineteen years ago)

Eisbaer, Wednesday, 13 June 2007 00:56 (nineteen years ago)

Eisbaer, Wednesday, 13 June 2007 01:01 (nineteen years ago)
