heh, traded in VORPed minds *and* real life!

anyways - our trade dealine is almost two weeks away and i have a surplus of keepers. current needs are 2B, C and SP.
i'm on vacation in Poland right now so i might not respond right away, but i also may accept anything at the rate i'm dominating the beer/vodka here!

All of my non-Verlander starters are available, as is Dustin Ackley (who is not keeperable).

melky cabrera is ranked 19th in mlb, above albert pujlols

my team - still blows. I can probably part with cudduyer (sp?) but only if I am overwhelmed by a deal. jk

I have no idea? Need to look.. My problem is I keep trying to find players who are good at alot of things but not really great at anything. Also probably handling pitching all wrong too..

Next year, I need to cut back to one team (the one in this league) and limit the maintenance. I don't think I've made any moves for either team since April -- just shuffling the lineups around whenever I remember to look.

dan uggla decided to not be worse than chone figgins anymore so I got that going for me now.

so on the train tonight Bonita Papelbon pops into my head. good thing i googled it on my phone as tracer stuck it in Bermanisms five years ago. making it worse he was only like the seventh google result a bunch of herbs from a phish message board were all over it ranking higher than ilx.

i had to squash latos intolerant and evan loggorhea earlier in the season after seeing how common they were.

so. i make that trade and *then* i read this about my IF safety net:

spiking Murphy hard in the process on a clean but awkward play. Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said Murphy has a substantial injury to his left knee and will be placed on the disabled list.

That play hurt to watch.

Billy Butler for Pujols is such an awesomely weird trade.

Butler is keeperable, Pujols isn't.

That's why I don't get it. Why trade a keeper eligible 1B for two months of (subpar) Pujols? Unless King Felix and BBQ Show thinks he can win the league this year with Pujols.

well why not then? i wasn't going to be keeping Butler - and Pujols over the last month has been much better.

i might not keep Butler either.. but i have him in another OBP/OPS/BB league and for that league his real value is far greater than his 5x5 yahoo rank. the offer came in unexpectedly.. damn just noticing now he had Kimbrel up for sale. :)

won't be keeping him either!

I see, if you're already loaded with keeper eligible players then it makes sense.

even tho he's bombed this year i'm not giving up on Heyward, and i decided i'd rather have Castro than Weiters. so that's in addition to Markakis, Hamels & King Felix. so that means Kennedy, Kimbrel and Freese are probably not sticking around.

hmmm, think i'll check rotowire and see what's going on with adam dunn since he's been in a slump his last 400 at bats or so

probably one of my biggest missteps in the draft this year was picking Adam "I'm" Dunn with in the first fucking round

Mark Trumbo is my starting 1B and is a vast improvement. sigh

He's trumbolievable.

one of the frustrating parts of this season has been the lack of playing time for mike napoli.

in only 320 AB, he's hitting .300/.397/.600, with 25 HR and 4.4 WAR.

i thought that perhaps he was getting platooned against righties, but here are his splits:

vs. right: .300/.391/.604
vs. left: .301/.410/.592

if he wasn't being benched half the time for no reason, dude might have 40-50 HR, 6-8 WAR! idgi

I picked up Matt Moore a week or two ago. I am genius.

Kind of flabbergasted that I'm not just in the top 10 again, but now @ #6. Fully expect freefall in coming weeks.

This a travesty of the worst kind 75X worst than any scandal is sport history i will take this all the way to the inventor of fantasy baseball..my guys played hard all year this is ashamed they get treated this way...This has ruined the mindset of my young players....We hate you!!!!!!!!!!! a 7 point drop in 3 days isn't all that likely imho, but it is possible!

my team of scrappy white hustlers has hustled and scrapped its way into the top 5ish after being in 12th all damn year since I made some decent moves and Dan Uggla decided to stop hitting .180.

i was in the cellar early on and then had to scrap and grit my way to second place. first place is likely a difficult reach at this point, i'm hail marying it and banking on a few free agent pickups to carry me over the top.
