Just caught their recent (re-run?) "Who's #1" on their Greatest World Series ever and sat through their whole thing about '86 and was all "cool, I didn't miss their summary of '91." ONLY I DID, 'cause apparently they think the whole Curse bullshit and one inning in Game 6 apparently tops Puckett's Game 6 and the Game 7 Morris marathon/Pendleton deke. What the fucking shit, people, 1991 > 1986 so hard it ain't even funny.

1991 was INTENSE.

1986 was better. The Mets LOST the first two games at HOME! That whole series was creeeeeazy. 2001 and 1991 are definitely in the running though.

It's funny though because ESPN.com last year actually DID call '91 the best ever. It's bad enough that the first one the Twins won in '87 mostly gets play as "worst regular season winning percentage of a World Champion, ever".

1987 was a pretty good series too even if none of the games were particularly high tension (except Game Six IIRC.) That was also the first series where no home team lost, I believe.
