i'm not crazy, i swear.
it took me forever to realize that there was an m in the expos logo. it always lookied like "e l b" to me. i thought it was a tribute to some canadian prog rock band.

Compare it, for example, to this one, which tries to do something similar: http://www.selection-j.com/img/new-fbf00-nba-013_a.jpg
Even if you don't see the cleverly inserted "M" and "B," you still see it as a glove with a ball in it.
This reminds me that when I was in 8th grade, I designed magnets with all MLB team logos on them (meticulously markered on cardboard), and kept track of the standings on my bedroom closet door.

the red sox logo is simple, dated, and kinda classic--i wouldn't like it if it were for an expansion club, but somehow it conveys history. to me.

this logo is a total failure to communicate anything whatsoever about the team. if i wasn't a baseball fan i'd have no idea what this logo was for. & what's the significance of the stars over the i's¿
this is an attempt to bring back a sorta-modernized version of the phillies' logo circa 1950 (the "whiz kids" world series team)-to-1970 (their last year in connie mack stadium, before they moved into the vet).
i still like the 1971-early 1990s phillies logo best, though. and so does outkast.

man i was like fourteen or so before i figured out that expos logo is an m. it was like the last season of the brewers using the glove logo when i figured out it's an 'm' and a 'b'. i'm an idiot.― cinniblount (James Blount), Wednesday, August 11, 2004 5:36 PM (5 years ago) Bookmark

"(We have) no plans to get rid of Chief Wahoo," Dolan told the Plain Dealer. "it is part of our history and legacy.
"We do have empathy for those who take issue with it. We have minimized the use of it and we'll continue to do what we think is appropriate."
We know that people are offended by it. So we will continue to use it.
