he wasn’t the right fit according to the Jays’ new cutting edge advanced statistical analysis.

omar little, Tuesday, 29 October 2019 21:43 (three weeks ago) link

After Strasburg's Game 6 start, we might as well start predicting whether he opts out of his contract. Over the past three years, he's accumulated 0.5 bWAR more than Gerrit Cole, but is two years older. I think it's a no brainer that he opts out and looks for ~ 6yr/$200M.

Per league source, the #Royals have hired Mike Matheny as their next manager. A press conference to introduce Matheny could happen today.

He was terrible in the ALCS...hope he hooks on with someone; 37 next year, 86 more for 500 HR.

2.7 bWAR, 2.5 fWAR in only 109 games this year -- still very useful when he's healthy

might fit nicely in boston, particularly if jd martinez opts out

the pitfalls of this particular job are applicable to anybody who takes it, but I think this is an inspired choice given what we've heard about Beltrán https://t.co/AuHr1RJabw

In a development that promises to have far-reaching implications on this offseason’s free agent market, starter Stephen Strasburg has decided to opt out of the remaining four years and $100MM on his contract with the Nationals, as first reported by Mark Feinsand of MLB.com (link). As Feinsand notes in a follow-up tweet, the present-day value of the remaining money on his Nationals deal is closer to $88MM, due to the original agreement’s heavily deferred structure (link).

at home in the alternate future, (Karl Malone), Sunday, 3 November 2019 16:43 (two weeks ago) link

strasburg will be interesting. he's a wonderful pitcher but there's a good chance that whoever signs him will be dealing with injuries.

at home in the alternate future, (Karl Malone), Sunday, 3 November 2019 16:45 (two weeks ago) link

...but obviously some team will have the money to risk it and sign him to a deal through his mid-to-late 30s.

also, yankees extend good guy aroldis chapman through 2022

lindor $16.7m

everything sounds great at the owners meetings in arlington

Astros owner Jim Crane is sitting about 30 feet away. We're not allowed to approach him and a sherriff and constable are standing in between the media and the owner. He'll get to decide whether he wants to speak about the cheating investigation. Stay tuned...
