would that be ruled differently if Arenado was trying to make a play? I remember the announcers bringing up something like that.

on a related note, Prince Fielder chatting up everyone who made it to first was one of my favorite things about him. Baseball's kind of a funny sport like that. in football and basketball it's natural to dislike the man who's on you because they're always in your face and/or shoving you around. you don't really get that in baseball.

doubtlessly that Arenado/Baez moment has inspired some solid slashfic.

i had to figure out why you dropped CBTorture in there, Will.

Is Liam Hendricks the only pitcher to go winless during the regular season and start a playoff game?

NoTimeBeforeTime, Wednesday, 3 October 2018 19:36 (five years ago) link

i had to figure out why you dropped CBTorture in there, Will.

haha sorry i did think "maybe i should write out Cleveland Baseball Team" but then i was like "uhhh whatever i don't think CBT stands for anything else" OOPS!

It looks like the Brewers are doing something similar with Chacin

frogbs, Wednesday, 3 October 2018 21:51 (five years ago) link

My heart wants A’s v Brewers
Brain says BoSox v either Dodgers or Rockies
Git says Yankees v Barves

So... that should be “gut”

Mad Piratical (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 3 October 2018 23:22 (five years ago) link

I was trying to figure out if github had some sort of prediction community

Karl Malone, Wednesday, 3 October 2018 23:30 (five years ago) link

a git *would* root for yankees-barves

mookieproof, Wednesday, 3 October 2018 23:34 (five years ago) link

It's so loud at the stadium and the TBS audio mix is so shitty that the booth crew is inaudible. Result!

WmC, Thursday, 4 October 2018 00:14 (five years ago) link

It was similar at times last night at ESPN.

Van Horn Street, Thursday, 4 October 2018 00:17 (five years ago) link

I was able to watch the last few innings of last night's game, but tonight, some hockey team has taken over.

clemenza, Thursday, 4 October 2018 01:24 (five years ago) link

Come on A's

Bee OK, Thursday, 4 October 2018 01:24 (five years ago) link

Bee OK, Thursday, 4 October 2018 01:24 (five years ago) link

Severino is really good, isn't he? Give it time.

timellison, Thursday, 4 October 2018 01:28 (five years ago) link

Nope.

we're positive this isnt Lee Trevino, right?

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 4 October 2018 01:42 (five years ago) link

Don't know the Yankees but I probably would have tried to take third there

Bee OK, Thursday, 4 October 2018 01:42 (five years ago) link

Maybe not, no outs

Bee OK, Thursday, 4 October 2018 01:45 (five years ago) link

And could have maybe scored there

Bee OK, Thursday, 4 October 2018 01:46 (five years ago) link

That swing lol

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Thursday, 4 October 2018 01:50 (five years ago) link

Nope.

Mad Piratical (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Thursday, 4 October 2018 01:50 (five years ago) link

Glad I don't really care, if it was the Giants I would be going out of my mind. Today, oh well

Bee OK, Thursday, 4 October 2018 01:53 (five years ago) link

Andy K, Thursday, 4 October 2018 02:10 (five years ago) link

This sets up nicely for a Chapman meltdown.

Van Horn Street, Thursday, 4 October 2018 02:10 (five years ago) link

Strike 3.

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Thursday, 4 October 2018 02:23 (five years ago) link

Yeap

Bee OK, Thursday, 4 October 2018 02:23 (five years ago) link

If Luke comes up again, I'd be willing to bet he'll catch one in the ribs or mid-back.

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Thursday, 4 October 2018 02:30 (five years ago) link

I meant Aroldis.

Van Horn Street, Thursday, 4 October 2018 02:33 (five years ago) link

Gonna have to be quite the Chapman meltdown, eh

nba jungboy (voodoo chili), Thursday, 4 October 2018 02:33 (five years ago) link

A's payroll: more or less the equivalent of 2 yankees relievers + their DH + their entire disabled list.

Van Horn Street, Thursday, 4 October 2018 02:42 (five years ago) link

Don’t watch the game without your Rudy Blocker™️ pic.twitter.com/9phS3glHMJ

xp Judge, Sanchez, severino, Torres, Voit, and Andujar all make less than 650k

nba jungboy (voodoo chili), Thursday, 4 October 2018 03:08 (five years ago) link

Same old yanks, buying championships!!11!

nba jungboy (voodoo chili), Thursday, 4 October 2018 03:09 (five years ago) link

6th largest payroll, 100m plus than the Oakland A's.

It's not like we aren't consistent, most of us here cheered against the Cubs last night.

Van Horn Street, Thursday, 4 October 2018 03:11 (five years ago) link

6th largest payroll is frugal by Yankees standards

nba jungboy (voodoo chili), Thursday, 4 October 2018 03:12 (five years ago) link

It is still more than the double the ressources of the Oakland A's.

Van Horn Street, Thursday, 4 October 2018 03:15 (five years ago) link

In any case I hope you are excited for the retirement of Yankee legend Luke Voit next July.
