As Ben Lindbergh opined about a year ago, writers are increasingly irritated at having to make predictions, because everyone sees the same projections (who wants to bet against HOU/LAD/CHC/CLE?), and for the most part, if someone picks an out-of-the-blue postseason team, they're trying to be mavericky for variety's sake. And wild-card slots are now often (always?) decided by injuries and July/August transactions, which generally can't be anticipated.

oh – the Blue Jays! :D
personally, i like the Twins for the second wild card spot. that's my only prediction. that and Marcus Stroman will start at least one brawl. possibly from the bench.
