After yesterday's start, Skenes has a K/BB ratio of 53/7. How often do you see that with a 22-year-old starter? Going back to Jose Fernandez, his was 4.21 for his four seasons, and that was really impressive; Skenes is at 7.57.

I'm sure I'll surprise no one here by stating..... I actually thought the check swing was borderline. In a perfect world, probably should have gone to the Rockies, but calling it in the moment I don't think it was egregious by the umpire (RF Jake cave would disagree with me here). The call on Smith beforehand kinda balanced it out anyways.

The luckier element of that inning was the JayHey grandie staying fair. Off the foul pole to keep the dodgers in the game. That hit still only took the dodgers from .5% to a 8.7% chance of winning (which went back to 7.8% after the questionable Smith strike out). Absolute monster inning, prime television.

Brewers/Angels had an insane finish too, Angels nearly came back down 6 in the 9th but Sal Frelick caught what would've been the game tying homerun

We were at our local microbrewery for trivia night and the place exploded with that Jason Heyward grand slam. Then again utter pandemonium with Teoscar's homerun. I am so not a Dodger homer but it's fun seeing a game in that setting.
