And to state the obvious, they let a guy having a good postseason bunt to they could get to a guy who's been cold the whole way.

I think, in general, the disappearance of the sacrifice bunt from baseball is a bad thing. There are many times during the course of a season when, late in a game, I don't understand why a team doesn't bunt (acknowledging that it's probably because the guy with the bat in his hand doesn't know how to). But when I see it used like it was last inning, I suddenly turn into a hardcore, eye-rolling sabermetrician (or, if you'd rather, Earl Weaver); I want the other team to come out and mash a home run or three.

It's Arizona, so there is no way this will be a no no. Texas will break through

So bizarre the two paths to zero runs.

I'm starting to feel torn at this point...almost ready to trade the win for Gallen to do it, and hope that Texas can win it at home (obviously preferable), but if you let Arizona back into the series, could easily see the Diamondbacks going back to Texas and winning both. And I do want Texas to win.

Eovaldi's close to 100 pitches, so I assume this inning is his last (they'd probably want him available for an inning in a G7).

That's a good take because they did win the last two against the Phillies, who I still believe are the better team.
