Everyday I watch Mookie Betts play I get the pleasure of watching a perennial mvp go out there and play killer baseball every day, and the schadenfreude of knowing it is at the expense of the red sox franchise.

it's just a way of gaining leverage. lance lynn doesn't want to play for the royals, but the royals would never trade for him, so he doesn't have to worry about them. put all the good teams on your no-trade list and you can essentially control where you want to go

Dodgers pitching witchcraft is seriously unparalleled though. Brasier went from being a guy you’d see come into the end of a Red Sox game and go “punting” to being a solid pair of hands again. Fully expect them to work their same magic on Lynn, but also that it won’t matter that much.

Witchcraft has been off this year, though I I’m hoping we’ve just had it in cold storage for this home stretch

Getting everything you want usually means you don’t win the World Series these days, right? Dodgers have 1 World Series win in the last 33+ years. The Yankees may never have another losing season but it feels like they are further than ever from the pennant. And the Padres thought they got the greatest trade deadline deal ever with Soto and Hader, but are now contemplating trading both as they can barely manage to be a .500 team.

To be clear Lance Lynn had 10 clubs on his no trade list and the Dodgers were one of them.
