The pitching has been really poor, especially when they have a big lead. When the pitching has been good they seem to be unable to get any hits lately.

i just have no idea what cohen's press conference will accomplish

I remember seeing his name trending on Twitter several times when he was in a lineup and people were absolutely raging /blaming Showalter & the thinking was that continuing to play him was Buck’s decision - I’m kind of surprised that it was FO but again I’m not that familiar with the Mets inner workings at all so that was probably obvious to you.

Showalter was told he had to play Vogelbach, the source said.

Part of the manager’s opposition to Vogelbach was philosophical: Showalter viewed the DH spot as one that should be used on a rotation, allowing position players a partial rest while remaining in the lineup.

But Showalter — who was fired last weekend, allowing new president of baseball operations David Stearns the opportunity to pick his own manager following the Mets’ 75-win season — also had an issue with Vogelbach’s limited skill set, according to a source.

Showalter viewed the DH spot as one that should be used on a rotation, allowing position players a partial rest while remaining in the lineup.

i'm surprised more managers don't do it this way. i mean sometimes it's done this way in a pinch but as a philosophy of what the DH should be for i like it
