welp, the worst players in baseball are off to a rough start. morale is low.

i'm in sell/trade mode, thinking of next year. i have a surplus of decent <27 keepers for next year, and a weakness in the 27-29 category.

this spreadsheet is more or less accurate, except that i no longer have the immortal danny jansen, and i do have 20-year-old SP prospect Eury Perez, who i drafted and makes his debut today.

if anyone would like to make a trade, i would like to improve my pool of 27-29 year old keepers, and i have at least one <27 keeper that i could part with as part of that trade. either Alejandro Kirk or Francisco Alvarez needs to go. pretty much anyone in my lineup could be considered for a trade, i just want to improve the team for next year.

if anyone has a trade they want to propose, let me know, otherwise i'll probably propose one of my own in the next few days

I didn’t mean to imply the season is over or anything. Just noticed will has hung into the lead for a bit now and had a three point jump last night. Also this was before my coffee and thought he had a 12 point lead instead of 8.

I am also very glad I didn’t pursue trading away younger guys when I was flirting with 4th place, as my team has now crashed brutally and might just drop Manoah entirely. (Which wil break my heart)

As soon as I dropped Jose Abreu my team started rising up. Clearly he was a bad clubhouse guy.

My round #2 pick might skip a start due to cramping
My round #3 pick is on the IL (concussion protocol)
My round #4 pick is due to make his season debut this week (only took 2 months & 1 week of IL residency)
My round #5 pick is on the bench
My round #6 pick in on the bench
My round #7 pick is on the trading block* because I have an all-star outfield (and would be on the bench if there wasn't a PPD)

why did you veto in the first place? I guess the option is there for a reason but I can’t imagine vetoing a trade that two adults agreed on unless it was comically lopsided.

ya, takes a certain % to tank a trade. usually the veto is for suspected collusion or other antics, but iirc we have tanked lopsided trades before

At the start of May, my team was 90 points behind the leader, I'm now 22 points back.

Most of my top draft picks were injured or were just awful, my offense was a AAA-level bad joke outside of about two players, and most of my keepers got off to slow starts.

I tried to swing a couple of trades, but nothing worked out, in part because some of the players I wanted to offer got injured.

I'm not sure if my team is regressing to the norm after a bad start or playing way over their heads, but either way, it's been fun.

Y'all I just got back from 8 days truly off the grid (zero wifi/cell service) and somehow I'm in 2nd place. WTF is even happening...

Anyone interested in a non-keeper trade? I need RP help and have a surplus of OF:

Castellanos or Santander for a top 100 RP
Eloy for a top 200 RP
JDM (DH) for a top 50 RP

Seems to be a glut of quality OF right now. Was trying to unload Lowe in my other league - but everyone seems to already be at one-outfielder-too-many already.

Our league YTD ranks:

JDM: 37
Castellanos: 42
Santander: 54
Eloy: 390 (but was hurt for a couple months, he's as good as or better than the others)

These guys are all first pagers in league leader cats.

Lowe is #92 in comparison.

There's been a great dogfight at the top of the standings for the last few weeks, but it's turning into a runaway now.

I can fool myself into thinking my team could have contended if their first month hadn't been so awful. But that's not realistic, Mourning Alonso and Billy Childish Bambino are just too good.
