TVT: Pardon the pun, but this question might seem like it’s from out of left field. Most if not all of today’s 4K TV sets have powerful upconverters built in. Why not simply produce and distribute a 1080p show and let the audience’s 4K TVs do the heavy lifting to convert the 1080p feed while also distributing a down-converted 720p show for the mass audience?

BC: That’s a great question. For us, our goal is to provide 4K. That’s what the distribution networks are looking for as they continue to provide this kind of programming.

So, our goal is that when we switch over to full 4K production that it is transparent to the home viewer.

a better empty suit would have said "we want to provide the 4K experience to every viewer, including those that still haven't upgraded to the latest 4K models with upconversion built in. In addition, we're at the forefront of upconverter technology and aim to continue to provide the best yadda yadda i make $740K a year at this shit somehow, come on!"

instead he was just like "...the won the contract with mlb because we said we'd offer 4K. and that's what we're doing, technically. contractually. with success. 100% KPI."

I really liked Barry Larkin doing games for the Reds the few times he was there this year. Chris Welsh moving to radio more is good too. Tommy Thrall is doing a fine job taking over from Marty on the radio. He is really good, got a smooth voice.

I love catching businessman special Reds games on the radio on my boombox in the office and driving home.

Bauer’s leave extended, thankfully.

Kind of miss Ted Leitner doing the Padres games on the radio, especially since they are having such an exciting season. He was such a performer, which was probably born out of trying to keep fans interested during many years of losing seasons.

idk. also they apparently delayed the start an hour, during which it did not rain, then played for a while in a downpour until the yankees got the lead, then called it after 50 minutes despite it having stopped raining

The name Guardians is a reference to well-known Art Deco statues located on the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge, which spans the Cuyahoga River and connects downtown Cleveland to the city’s trendy Ohio City neighborhood. Those statues are known as the “Guardians of Traffic.”

The new name is ok - I do prefer the old school names tho (Blues, Spiders etc).
