i'm hoping Stanton will make the last out while reinjuring himself and the Stankee fans can boo him a la the Philthy fans and Ryan Howard.

Verlander just doesn't have the kind of character you need to be a great postseason pitcher. His mystique is crumbling by the second.

The setup for Chapman to blow it is slowly forming.

Possibly prescient. I didn't expect Verlander to go so deep or not to give up any more runs. Now that Paxton's out (he was great)...

tbf it's hockey season for me

TEXASS BOUND

calstars, Saturday, 19 October 2019 02:09 (six years ago)

A Yankees game under 3 hours, what in the world.

Galangal Baker (WmC), Saturday, 19 October 2019 02:10 (six years ago)

That was the best case scenario for the Yankees -- good start by Paxton, hardly any pitches thrown by the relievers, made the Astros' offense look bad.

NoTimeBeforeTime, Saturday, 19 October 2019 02:14 (six years ago)

This series officially has me worried now about a possible Yankees win.

NoTimeBeforeTime, Saturday, 19 October 2019 02:15 (six years ago)

psh, y'all are talking about momentum

you think the astros wouldn't have been pleased to know they'd have six and seven at home up 3-2?

mookieproof, Saturday, 19 October 2019 02:20 (six years ago)

I don't believe in momentum in these games

Houston came into tonight's game w/ plenty of it

The Ravishing of ROFL Stein (Hadrian VIII), Saturday, 19 October 2019 02:29 (six years ago)

sort of expected to be down 3-2 going back down there

The Ravishing of ROFL Stein (Hadrian VIII), Saturday, 19 October 2019 02:30 (six years ago)

Hinch, don't you dare fucking "save" Cole for a Game 7...

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Saturday, 19 October 2019 08:25 (six years ago)

He will. I smell a fucking disaster.

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Saturday, 19 October 2019 09:03 (six years ago)

you spelled party wrong

The Ravishing of ROFL Stein (Hadrian VIII), Saturday, 19 October 2019 11:57 (six years ago)

Starting G6 on short rest is inviting disaster though. The Astros have a solid, rested bullpen for G6 and Cole on full rest in G7 -- I can't really argue with that.

NoTimeBeforeTime, Saturday, 19 October 2019 12:58 (six years ago)

Starting pitchers are still listed as TBD on MLB's site (by the way, I like CCR better than BTO)...I thought after the delay Cole would be on full rest tonight.

clemenza, Saturday, 19 October 2019 15:33 (six years ago)

While starters (or "openers") haven't been announced for tonight, the managers indicated last night that a G7 wd be Cole vs Severino.

Future Yogi Berra: in an interview with Hazel Mae, Josh Reddick said the thing that links all his postseason teams is that they "didn't know when to stop quitting."
