I agree that there aren't enough superlatives to describe what he's doing.

despite pitching only 47 innings, his first game back being june 16, he ended up with 1.9 fWAR from pitching alone.

for comparison, aroldis chapman ended up with with 2.6 fWAR in 61.1 innings. that was roughly ohtani’s pace: in 61.1 innings, he would have ended up with 2.47 fWAR

comparing WAR is kinda silly too, over reliever-span sample sizes! but ohtani pitched this year, it was roughly at a chapman level

In that span his ISO & SLG have both dropped over 100 points, OPS has dropped from 944 to 814.

Only two batters (Judge, Schwarber) have more MLB home runs than Shohei Ohtani since Shohei's MLB debut.

Only one pitcher (deGrom) has a lower ERA (500+ innings) than Shohei Ohtani since Shohei's MLB debut.

I ran these through fangraphs, Ohtani's #9 in batting fWAR and #43 in pitching fWAR since 3/2018 (MLB debut).

For pitching Ohtani has accrued <1/2 the fWAR of the elite 3: Wheeler, deGrom, Cole.

For total fWAR, Judge still has Ohtani beat to the tune of 55.2 to 51.7 (since Ohtani's debut, Judge has another 8.7 fWAR from his first 2 seasons).
