With the way the ball is flying having a good HR/FB might just be a skill? For example, Darvish is still getting crushed in that aspect. I get it’s quite park dependant but I suppose if everyone is hitting the low pitches and going for HRs pitchers must figure at least try to find way to induce fly outs.

mookieproof, Friday, 13 September 2019 20:43 (six years ago)

dear Mr Manfred

1) fix the ball
2) blow up Wrigley Field

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Friday, 13 September 2019 20:44 (six years ago)

The Cubs have hit three home runs in the first inning of a game for the first time since Sept. 17, 2006, also at Wrigley Field.

Jacque Jones, Ronny Cedeño and Carlos Zambrano did the honors against Eric Milton and Sun-Woo Kim of the Reds.

omar little, Friday, 13 September 2019 23:01 (six years ago)

tbh should they get there i still expect the Cubs to make as much of an impact on the postseason as the O's, ultimately.

omar little, Friday, 13 September 2019 23:02 (six years ago)

quite a Bears-Steelers game

I shd've specified Wrigley should be imploded while the Rickettses are holding Trump fundraiser

pirates tying franchise records right and left today

plunked four batters in a game (last done in 1909)

allowed double-digit runs for the 28th time this season (last done in 1930)

mookieproof, Saturday, 14 September 2019 21:14 (six years ago)

great weekend, Buccos

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 15 September 2019 21:03 (six years ago)

hang onnnn Cards

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 15 September 2019 21:11 (six years ago)

We could witness more history: The Pirates have allowed 46 runs in this series. One more ties their modern-era record for most runs allowed in a three-game series (June 23-25, 1950). Cubs have hit 13 home runs over three days.

Junior who? fuckin St Loo

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 15 September 2019 21:22 (six years ago)

Cards about as helpful as the Bucs

Michael F Gill, Sunday, 15 September 2019 21:23 (six years ago)

Junior Fernandez is going to kick the Mets’ ass a hundred fold in 2020-25 just for that!

I’m more bummed about giant walking the bases loaded. He was unstoppable in the first half but now he’s completely lost it

Sally Jessy (Karl Malone), Sunday, 15 September 2019 22:15 (six years ago)

Giant = Gant

Sally Jessy (Karl Malone), Sunday, 15 September 2019 22:15 (six years ago)

has wainwright announced an intention to retire? he's having a pretty nice season

mookieproof, Thursday, 19 September 2019 18:37 (six years ago)

he has kind of hinted at it, but he also did that last season. and he's also laid some hints about retiring when yadi does (whose contract is up at the end of 2020)

Sally Jessy (Karl Malone), Thursday, 19 September 2019 19:00 (six years ago)

i feel bad for talking so much shit about him last year, hoping that he'd retire. he really seemed *done* done last year, though. his velocity dropped off a cliff and it was just one hanging uncle charlie after another for months straight.

Sally Jessy (Karl Malone), Thursday, 19 September 2019 19:01 (six years ago)

Wainwright has quite a bit of guile and just mixing speeds is pretty effective if he has control. I'd imagine returning depends a whole lot on how the rest of the season plays out.

Those 40s Cardinals clubs are the only players that would have won 3 titles. Wainwright and Yadi would have three rings if they won it this year.

Feels so weird to say this but.......go.......Cardinals

frogbs, Friday, 20 September 2019 02:38 (six years ago)

Hurt myself today
To see if I still felt

Sally Jessy (Karl Malone), Friday, 20 September 2019 02:40 (six years ago)

isn't that a shame

mookieproof, Friday, 20 September 2019 03:46 (six years ago)

glad the Cubs have acquired future HOFer Craig Kimbrel to shut down the opposition.

omar little, Friday, 20 September 2019 03:47 (six years ago)

at least the Mets may finish ahead of the Cubs.
