If my math is right, the Twins have hit 98 HR in 49 games.

Subjective observation that may or may not be true: I don't ever remember so many teams, day in and day out, scoring 10+ runs a game. It feels like three or four teams do it every day. Are runs historically high this year, or am I just fixating on a few games?
― clemenza, Saturday, 25 May 2019 22:23 (five years ago) link
Up a fifth of a run from last year, identical to 2017, half a run lower than PED peak. So no. Maybe it's a distribution thing.

i am willing to believe that because, especially in the AL, we have some really good teams and some disastrously awful ones, that there are more blowouts than usual. but i have no data for it

Here are run totals of 10+ the last couple of weeks, both leagues:
May 11: 13, 11, 12, 17May 12: 11, 15, 10, 10May 13: noneMay 14: 11, 14, 11May 15: 11May 16: 11, 17, 16, 14, 10, 11May 17: 14, 12, 10May 18: 18May 19: 13, 10May 20: 12, 10, 10May 21: 11, 10May 22: 11, 10 (and four teams score 9)May 23: 14, 16May 24: 12, 10, 10, 11, 18May 25: 19 (so far--thanks, Jays)
That can't possibly be normal.

On Tuesday, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand that the Yankees and Braves had emerged as frontrunners for Keuchel, with offers in the same ballpark. Soon after, however, a second source told Feinsand that the Yankees appear to be the true favorites, with Atlanta part of a second tier of suitors, including the Twins and possibly the Cardinals.

Jose Ramirez has a .200/.297/.300 line going right now, which is even more alarming when you consider he completely fell off a cliff to finish up 2018 after arguably being the front runner for MVP for the portion of the season leading up to that precipice.

White Sox seem to be doing a bit better than expected. While there is obviously room for collapse, most people had them picked for 100 losses and right now they are pretty middling at 30-33.
I guess someone has to pickup wins from all those clubs in the AL that seem to be tanking on purpose.
