Tokyo Ghetto Stüssy (King Boy Pato), Tuesday, 21 May 2019 14:22 (seven years ago)

fangraphs and the ringer both have stories about how shitty the mets are today

also apparently todd frazier and adam eaton have a feud? this is delightful news

na (NA), Tuesday, 21 May 2019 14:43 (seven years ago)

Michael Baumann in The Ringer piece:

"to a certain extent this is just a decent team in a rough patch that happens to play in the rubber-walled confines of the New York media bubble"

Interesting definition of "shitty" (and Baumann hates NYC with every fiber of his being)

We all know the Wilpons are demons, but so are most pro sports owners.

Lacking outfield depth, the Mets just claimed Aaron Altherr off waivers from the Giants. He'll presumably be active tomorrow night against the Tigers.

When Matt Kemp's signing becomes official, he will report to Triple-A Syracuse, source says.

Ah yes, our clutch home run hitters: Carlos Gomez, Rajai Davis, Aaron Altherr, Adeiny Hecchavaria, and now Tomas Nido.

Brandon Nimmo is suffering from a bulging disc in his neck and whiplash. As of now, his timetable remains unknown.

The Mets have opened a game with back-to-back homers three times in their history, all in the last 13 years:

July 12, 2007:
José Reyes & Rubén Gotay

Aug. 26, 2016:
José Reyes & Asdrubal Cabrera

June 6, 2019:
Amed Rosario & Dominic Smith

love the metsness of the jed lowrie saga

- his former agent is the GM
- no one seems to know what's wrong with him or when he will recover
- having him actually show up would probably be a downgrade

mookieproof, Sunday, 16 June 2019 03:02 (six years ago)

unless they make him the closer

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 16 June 2019 03:07 (six years ago)

This bullpen is certainly a disaster in a half, with Mets losing in very Metsian ways.

I'm coming around to the thinking that JD Davis was a good pickup.

Michael F Gill, Sunday, 16 June 2019 03:12 (six years ago)

Weekend with #mets: The GM won't say if Jed Lowrie has a new injury, despite suggesting there is one; Brandon Nimmo now seeing neck specialists for injury team has said was merely "soreness"; and team won't reveal MRI results for Noah Syndergaard that was taken Sunday AM

mookieproof, Monday, 17 June 2019 15:52 (six years ago)

The Mets have called a full-blown team meeting this afternoon -- not exactly standard operating procedure before a game. Appears to be a bigger roster shakeup than just Daniel Zamora, as well. The team has no reserves or bullpen arms listed on its clubhouse lineup card right now.

Jacob deGrom just moved into seventh place on the Mets' all-time strikeout list:

1. Tom Seaver, 2,541
2. Dwight Gooden, 1,875
3. Jerry Koosman, 1,799
4. Sid Fernandez, 1,449
5. David Cone, 1,172
6. Ron Darling, 1,148
7. Jacob deGrom, 1,109
