feels weird because he's been the catcher of the future for so long, and the red sox seem to have jerked him around a lot, but . . . he's been pretty bad

David Price, who’s starting tonight, just made a point to say that Fortnite is not banned in the clubhouse, and that banning it has not been discussed. And that he’s about to go play some Fortnite. Carry on.— Michael Silverman (@MikeSilvermanBB) May 2, 2019

i like speier and i know he's not really responsible for the marketing, but give me a fucking break
'homegrown' = mookie, bogaerts and benintendi. jbj was all defense. devers was replacement-level. none of the pitchers were 'homegrown'
they led the majors in payroll and spent almost $100m on simply price/jd/hanley/porcello -- and that's before we get to sale and kimbrel
how about we call it a really rich team that spent its money well instead

Probably also worth saying, though it doesn't show up in the box score, Boston absolutely roped a good number of pitches but they just happened to go right at somebody. Many days those fall. But TB did a great job of keeping walks down - I think they only issued one. Just a real tight game, felt like the playoffs. Fun stuff.
