I can also no longer rationalize a world where Randall Grichuk's contract extension is for less years and more money than Ozzie Albies.

It's typical that agents criticize competitors' deals. But I've now heard from executives, players, analytics people, development side and scouts who are saying the same thing: The Ozzie Albies extension might be the worst contract ever for a player. And this is not hyperbole.

I went to Cot's Baseball Contracts and Ozzie doesn't have an agent listed, so I don't know who to be mad at.

also that, as we know from things like david wright's contract, the teams hedge on deals by taking out insurance -- and maybe that's something the union should do for its young members, on the other side, as they await arbitration and free agency

Khris Davis isn't good enough for me to want to root for him to break a major record. (Excuse tortured syntax.) And probably not good enough to sustain this anyway, I don't think. If he challenges .247 again, that I'd get caught up in.
