Mike Trout out indefinitely with a right groin pull.

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Wednesday, 10 April 2019 04:32 (seven years ago)

Looks like it was this slide that caused the damage:

Trout had two hits in the first three innings and ends up leaving the game. Hopefully nothing too serious he grabbed something on the right side after being forced out at second. #thehaloway pic.twitter.com/KCaMFxJxwK

Billy Hamilton collided hard with the wall in CF, was able to stand gingerly, but was carted off the field.

Here’s a hot take on Rays top prospect Wander Franco.

The 18-year-old shortstop playing at Class A Bowling Green had to leave Thursday’s game at Lake County (outside Cleveland) in the third inning because he was too hot.

With temperatures in the 40s, Franco, who is from the Dominican Republic and never played in such cold before this week, tried to be better prepared for the final game of the series.

But he applied too much of a gel players use to keep warm, according to a team official, and after batting for the second time felt too uncomfortable to keep playing.

"You cannot make this up," the team official said.

Alex Reyes punched a wall after his last start and fractured his left pinky. He'll relocate to extended spring training to continue throwing, but will be out of active competition for about three weeks. #stlcards

Fractured ulna for Kluber.

His pitching arm too. Definitely not what you want in your walk year.

NoTimeBeforeTime, Thursday, 2 May 2019 17:14 (seven years ago)

Non-displaced facture is the only good news there. He did not have a very impressive start to 2019 to begin with, he could maybe turn it around in his rehab?

Troy Tulowotzki, who has been out since April 4 with a nagging calf injury, was given a few days off by the Yankees to go home, per Aaron Boone. He hasn’t gotten over the hump of his injury.

at the risk of piling on . . . what can you even do to a calf that two months won't heal?

The A’s announced that outfielder Stephen Piscotty underwent a successful surgery Thursday to remove a melanoma from his right ear and is resting comfortably at home.

Piscotty will be evaluated daily as he awaits further information from a pathology report, and the A’s expect him to return to the club within the next week.

mookieproof, Friday, 14 June 2019 21:16 (six years ago)

Sean Newcomb just took a hard line drive off the base of his skull. He walked off under his own power and was even chuckling about it a little, but I'm sure they'll be keeping a really close watch overnight.

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Sunday, 15 September 2019 19:11 (six years ago)

This guy has the worst luck. Can't see that it will cost him the MVP, though--the only guy even close, Bregman, will split votes with two or three other Astros.

clemenza, Sunday, 15 September 2019 19:18 (six years ago)

Or more to the point, Trout was about to win unanimously, and two weeks will have a minimal impact on that.

clemenza, Sunday, 15 September 2019 19:30 (six years ago)

anthony rizzo out for probably duration of regular season with an ankle sprain

na (NA), Monday, 16 September 2019 21:40 (six years ago)

No surprise that Charlie Culberson (multiple facial fractures, no surgery needed) is done for the year.

Lucas Gioloto out for RoS with lat strain.

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Tuesday, 17 September 2019 04:22 (six years ago)

Freddie Freeman's been limping along with a floater in his right elbow, but he came out of the game today and suddenly it's apparent he hasn't been very good this month. (Last homer 9/1) Maybe he'll consent to resting until the NLDS.

WmC, Sunday, 22 September 2019 20:23 (six years ago)

three months pass...

So the Cespedis injury that caused his contract to be renegotiated was caused by a fall while tussling with a wild boar?!
