speaking of hammerin' hank, i knew about all of the racist bullshit he had to face in the run-up to his 715th HR, but it was only recently (in an anecdote in the Invisible Bridge) that i learned that his first words in his speech to the crowd after hitting it were "Thank God it's over". it's kind of interesting that barry bonds said something very similar after hitting his 714th to tie Ruth - "I'm just glad it's over with"

I don't think you can use the Dodger's current hitting approach and expect to win 3 post-season series in a row. Loud contact comes and goes but the strikeouts remain and this is all they have right now.

Also for all the analytical minded Roberts might just have to admit Jansen might be better as a long reliever than the closer.
