It's weird because the National League has been so exciting but it's totally possible we remember this season as "the Red Sox were historically good and steamrolled everyone" -- I mean, who remembers what else happened in 1984?

The second half of that game really flew by. The Dodgers did nothing at the plate, but still.

First time in a while I had to miss the first two games. Bad timing--bought a movie ticket three weeks ago. Anyway, not sure what's going on with Boston's hitters, but if Price can win a second game, maybe he'll have a shot at MVP.

1984 - Leon Durham through the wickets...painful to watch. I was at my cousin's wedding reception.

Didn't matter though, as the Tigers were awesome that year. That was a pretty deep club, Sparky did quite a bit of matchups and platoons with that club.

I've been off here for both games, so I'm part of the problem, but I remember that Texas/Cardinals series from a few years ago was getting so much ILB commentary every night (1081 posts for the thread); this somewhat historical series is hardly getting any. That was a wild series, but still.

There haven't been many great series this year, hence fewer posts. I don't know about the rest of ILX, but the ILB core has stayed fairly loyal to the board.

honestly the most exciting thing has been looking at the green monster. i don't see too many red sox games, so it's still a novelty to me. but now the series is going back to LA, so

i enjoy watching whatever team Machado is on lose.

yeah, if anything the only thing i'll remember from 2018 is manny machado sucks and jesus aguilar is cool

I've lived 2 miles from Fenway Park for nearly two decades and I still don't think the novelty of it all has worn off, even as a non-red sox fan.

Betts is pretty much the most lovable Red Sox since Wakefield.

this is a better charm than some Red Sox of the past, Boggs would have gone there and eaten all the chicken being provided.
