Geary was awful, why did they keep him in for so long?

Michael F Gill, Monday, 9 April 2007 20:15 (nineteen years ago)

Great game for a home opener though

Michael F Gill, Monday, 9 April 2007 20:16 (nineteen years ago)

Dr Morbius, Monday, 9 April 2007 20:16 (nineteen years ago)

Way to switch it up!

David R., Monday, 9 April 2007 20:17 (nineteen years ago)

Dr Morbius, Monday, 9 April 2007 20:18 (nineteen years ago)

Don't Fear The Leiber

Steve Shasta, Monday, 9 April 2007 20:22 (nineteen years ago)

you're right, DW is the new A-Rod! back to the grindhouse!

Dr Morbius, Monday, 9 April 2007 20:24 (nineteen years ago)

who 'closes' now? Heilman?

Dr Morbius, Monday, 9 April 2007 20:25 (nineteen years ago)

Dearest Doctor:

1) I was obv. kidding re: DW as ARod
2) You need to get new dentures, because this lockjaw you have re: whatever is very unattractive

David R., Monday, 9 April 2007 20:25 (nineteen years ago)

well, bring a crowbar to our game!

Dr Morbius, Monday, 9 April 2007 20:26 (nineteen years ago)

(plus w/ lockjaw I talk like Thurston Howell III for 9 innings)

Dr Morbius, Monday, 9 April 2007 20:27 (nineteen years ago)

well that was ugly

rps, Thursday, 12 April 2007 00:11 (nineteen years ago)

Top 3rd: Philadelphia

- J. Rollins flied out to left
- S. Victorino grounded out to shortstop
- C. Utley singled to right
- R. Howard walked, C. Utley to second
- P. Burrell walked, C. Utley to third, R. Howard to second
- W. Helms walked, C. Utley scored, R. Howard to third, P. Burrell to second
- A. Rowand walked, R. Howard scored, P. Burrell to third, W. Helms to second
- R. Barajas hit by pitch, P. Burrell scored, W. Helms to third, A. Rowand to second
- A. Sele relieved O. Perez

rps, Thursday, 12 April 2007 00:12 (nineteen years ago)

Perez pretty much lost control emotionally after the third walk and was just hoping for a strike. He might as well have been playing darts blindfolded.

Michael F Gill, Thursday, 12 April 2007 00:21 (nineteen years ago)

Attendees for next Saturday's game: It's Luggage Tag Day.

Dr Morbius, Monday, 16 April 2007 13:48 (nineteen years ago)

Who else saw the Marlins' classy Mets/Borat videoboard pics last night?

Gary: "I loved that movie, but what's Borat doing in Metsville."
Keith: "I'm a aghast."

The capper was when (Gary) Cohen observed when Shawn Green came up, "It's especially inappropriate now."

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 19 April 2007 14:13 (nineteen years ago)

Man I missed that, MLB TV only gives you the home team feed. They need to get on some sort of home/away feed delivery. I'd pay more for that.

In regards to the Howie Rose comment, I too would be sort of pissed at not being able to hear/see the first Mets no hitter with an SNY/WFAN call.

Michael F Gill, Friday, 20 April 2007 00:53 (nineteen years ago)

At the moment I have an extra Mets tkt for tomorrow. (hstencil + 1 has paid me for theirs but I can't get ahold of him, tho I'm guessing he will in the next 21 hours.) Maura seems to be on the other coast. mookieproof? or anyone?

Dr Morbius, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:22 (nineteen years ago)

OK found jorel

Dr Morbius, Friday, 20 April 2007 19:08 (nineteen years ago)

cankles, Saturday, 21 April 2007 10:31 (nineteen years ago)

OK, a tight moment of the game and Hernandez + other dude in booth are discussing the merits of the Moody Blues right now.

mets booth = nu-WPIX Phil Rizzuto era
i love it

sanskrit, Sunday, 22 April 2007 00:25 (nineteen years ago)

Haha, I was just coming to this thread to talk about the Moody Blues comment! (For the record, Hernandez thinks they should be in the rock n roll hall of fame, Cohen thinks they are pretentious and should've dropped the poetry.)

Michael F Gill, Sunday, 22 April 2007 08:55 (nineteen years ago)

yesterday Hernandez said he HATES "Ev-ry-body clap your hands," as I do.

The new #7 turnstile setup at Shea is SO fucked!! At least we saw the only win of the weekend. RAMON!

Steve Shasta, LoDuca is down to .245/.317/.321, can I bitch about him hitting second NOW?

Dr Morbius, Monday, 23 April 2007 13:40 (nineteen years ago)

Mets Fan Arraigned For Temporarily Blinding Braves Players

Dr Morbius, Monday, 23 April 2007 16:03 (nineteen years ago)

hahaha, yeah, everybody around him immediately pointed him out and he was all "what, me?"

Rock Hardy, Monday, 23 April 2007 16:40 (nineteen years ago)

Hoy shit! did they stop the game because of this?

The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Monday, 23 April 2007 16:43 (nineteen years ago)

briefly yeah. He pleaded not guilty.

Dr Morbius, Monday, 23 April 2007 16:52 (nineteen years ago)

"That's my life. That's my personal life. That's none of your business. How would you like it if I went to your house and took pictures of your wife?"

--Mets catcher Paul Lo Duca, when reporters asked him to identify a woman in a picture from the race track. Lo Duca owns a horse. (Kristie Ackert and Jerry Bossert, New York Daily News)

Dr Morbius, Monday, 23 April 2007 17:52 (nineteen years ago)

He's just cranky 'cause every single foul tip seems to catch him in a sensitive spot.

Rock Hardy, Monday, 23 April 2007 19:26 (nineteen years ago)

Easley!

Michael F Gill, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 01:59 (nineteen years ago)

ENDY!!!!!!

maura, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 02:42 (nineteen years ago)

endy is the greatest

maura, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 02:42 (nineteen years ago)

Endy with the surprise drag bunt! Plus a hilarious balk!

Michael F Gill, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 02:43 (nineteen years ago)

funniest balk ever.

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 13:24 (nineteen years ago)

Ramon Castro: 20 PA, VORP 4.7
Paul Lo Duca: 71 PA, VORP -0.7

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 16:38 (nineteen years ago)

El Duque: 13 PA, VORP 2.0
Carlos Delgado: 92 PA, VORP -3.7

mookieproof, Thursday, 26 April 2007 21:31 (nineteen years ago)

I'm not sure you should platoon a 50-year-old pitcher at first, tho

Dr Morbius, Friday, 27 April 2007 16:16 (nineteen years ago)

John Maine, STUD

Dr Morbius, Monday, 30 April 2007 15:46 (nineteen years ago)

...but ravaged El Duque to DL with bursitis, Chan Ho Park up to start tonight (which means I shd probably watch a Doris Day movie instead of the game).

Dr Morbius, Monday, 30 April 2007 19:09 (nineteen years ago)

Lots of low scoring drama in the Washington series, which is odd because both the ballpark atmosphere and the announcers seem to naturally deflate any kind of excitement or spectacle about the games.

I've been impressed with Green so far in the first month. Wright and Delgado seem a bit cold, but their defense hasn't suffered.

Michael F Gill, Monday, 30 April 2007 19:59 (nineteen years ago)

of course, I took Green for my HACKING MASS team.

Dr Morbius, Monday, 30 April 2007 20:19 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, and I put Wright on my home run derby list. oops.

Michael F Gill, Monday, 30 April 2007 21:06 (nineteen years ago)
