The Brew Crew / Reds game tonight has turned into a beer league soft ball game.

yeah this game has been insane. Yelich having the game of his career: 5 for 5, a cycle, and an outfield assist. Moose not doing too bad either

6 for 6 now. And yet the Brewers are on the verge of blowing another 19 hit night, thanks to bad pitching, a bunch of fluke plays, and some real questionable umping decisions

wound up being a 22 hit night and they needed all 22 of them, holy shit this game

Brewers-Reds games have been nuts this year, though unfortunately the subtext always seems to be "HOW THE HELL COULD YOU LET SCOOTER GENNETT GO??"

Reds getting Scooter Gennett was pay back for Bill Hall hitting like Rogers Hornsby against the Reds for a few years. I swear one year he hit 11 home runs for the season and like 8 of them were against the Reds.

Jay Bruce used to hit big against the Brewers, don't know if it has continued with the Mets (probably not).

guess so! carpenter has been slumping for about a month now so i'm not sure it was necessary for today's game, but still pretty interesting to see counsell do something like that in this final week.

Huh, that's a scenario I never thought of before. If a starter comes out after one unretired batter and the 2nd pitcher throws 4.2 innings and comes out with 2 outs in the 5th, is the 2nd pitcher eligible for the win in relief even though he wouldn't have been eligible as a starter?
