Judge's throw to Didi nabbing Vasquez was so satisfying to watch (can't find a gif yet).

lbi's life of limitless european glamour (Le Bateau Ivre), Wednesday, 9 May 2018 09:14 (eight years ago)

Stanton's homer swings yesterday looked like something out of a beer league softball game.

That throw clip was really impressive both from how it was shot and Judge's throw being that good.

Morbs, a hair desperate and ad hominem for May 9, maybe? At this rate you'll have nothing left for the parade in November.

After striking out in the seventh inning Friday night, Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius — the American League's Player of the Month for April — is now 1-for-his-last-45. On April 25, Sir Didi was batting .372. He's now hitting .248.

To me, Sanchez looks kinda uncomfortable behind the plate and not all that mobile. I might be seeing him play on a pitcher/catcher off night, but he seems to often be on another page where he sets up and where the pitch comes in. I've seen him give up a couple of wild ones by seeming to try to glove stuff instead of moving his body. Sanchez's dWAR numbers on baseball reference seem to say he is pretty average with the glove.

A record: http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/23699703/aaron-judge-new-york-yankees-strikes-record-8-s-doubleheader

Meanwhile, Stanton was absolutely livid to be plunked again by Mike Fiers...this time in his heavily padded elbow, with runners on first and second in the third inning of a tie game. At least it motivated him to hit a meaningless HR later.

As Pride Month comes to a close, Yankees are now one of two MLB teams (along with Angels) to never hold a gay-themed event. This story from last year still holds. https://t.co/YCslGnIkX6

damning the Yankees and America

And certainly none of us wants to be anything like Yankees *fans* — especially after seeing them at close quarters. Certainly, I have witnessed them often enough in Baltimore during weekend series against my beloved Orioles to know the horror in full.

Not that the horror is easy to recall clearly. The trauma is too violent. Memory cringes, whines, tries to slink away. One recollects only a kaleidoscopic flux of gruesomely fragmentary impressions, too outlandish to be perfectly accurate, too vivid to be entirely false: nightmarish revenants from the dim haunts of the collective unconscious … monstrous, abortive shapes emerging from the abysmal murk of evolutionary history … things pre-hominid, even pre-mammalian …

Coley Harvey, ESPN Staff Writer:

Aaron Boone on Aaron Judge's return, following Andrew McCutchen's signing: "We're still optimistic in the plan. The belief is he'll be back with plenty of time." Boone says he also sees McCutchen as someone who can hit throughout the lineup, but a "definite" leadoff option.
