― The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Sunday, 3 May 2009 02:19 (seventeen years ago)
way deeper than the AL
marlins, phils, mets are all better than the yanks, the rays don't look too good, and i mean... i guess the jays but
braves are certainly better than whoever is 4th best in the nl east
― zone 6 polar bear (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 3 May 2009 02:21 (seventeen years ago)
The Marlins are currently (on the second day of May) one game better at beating NL teams than the Yankees are at beating AL teams, but, uh...

Praising their sharp analysts is a custom here, yes.
― Hated at Hooters (Andy K), Sunday, 3 May 2009 02:33 (seventeen years ago)

marlins: .459yankees: .447
― zone 6 polar bear (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 3 May 2009 02:47 (seventeen years ago)

― zone 6 polar bear (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 3 May 2009 02:49 (seventeen years ago)
silliness rampant here
― Dr Morbius, Sunday, 3 May 2009 02:52 (seventeen years ago)
AL East is far and away the best league in MLB.
Tried to figure out the best way to display this quickly and dirtily, took the average rank by division of the BP Power Rankings (3rd order W/L, Adjusted EQR/EQRA, etc.):
AL East = 10.0NL East = 15.8AL Central = 16.7NL Central = 17.4AL West = 18.0NL West = 18.8
NL East is the 2nd best league in MLB, but the distance from #2 to #6 is much closer than #1 to #2.

better still than the marlins is the pirates, tbh. they swept the marlins, who are better than the yankees.
― "Together we could rape the universe" (omar little), Sunday, 3 May 2009 02:58 (seventeen years ago)
the pirates are good, ppl are sleeping
― zone 6 polar bear (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 3 May 2009 02:58 (seventeen years ago)
some good hitters on that team, they're gonna be pesky
― zone 6 polar bear (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 3 May 2009 02:59 (seventeen years ago)

that's nice. did u bring yr lordly fan-of-no-teambutt to Shitty Field?
― Dr Morbius, Sunday, 3 May 2009 07:40 (seventeen years ago)
Going to Citi on Wednesday. Appreciate any info on things to do before the game or good seat advice.
― mayor jingleberries, Sunday, 3 May 2009 15:10 (seventeen years ago)
per the CSTB report, do a self-upgrade if your seat is not to yr satisfaction.
― Dr Morbius, Sunday, 3 May 2009 15:48 (seventeen years ago)
things to do before the game - eat too much in meyerland; check out the view from various angles and levels (excelsior), including outside views of the auto shops (up by the pepsi porch) and the water seat advice - buy the cheapest one you can find, then grab a standing spot behind an unobstructed-view field level rail

^today I may quit ILBB^
― Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 6 May 2009 03:34 (seventeen years ago)
you don't see many games reach the 7th-inning stretch w/ 3 hits by both teams.
― Dr Morbius, Thursday, 7 May 2009 01:00 (seventeen years ago)
u dont often see delgado score from 1st on an infield hit (thanks feliz y worth)
― johnny crunch, Thursday, 7 May 2009 01:20 (seventeen years ago)
Citi > nu Yanqui
Had a great time in Flushing. The LA dude in me resulted in me leaving early to avoid subway anarchy. Was also with a non sports fan if we're making more excuses...
― mayor jingleberries, Thursday, 7 May 2009 04:13 (seventeen years ago)
leaving a 1-0 game early with K-Rod coming in... I hope the Dodgers get smacked outta the playoffs 3-0 this year.
― Dr Morbius, Thursday, 7 May 2009 13:23 (seventeen years ago)
u worse than gabbneb
Are Manuel's benchings of Murphy as random as they seem, or is there some logic behind it?
He has sit a couple times this season against lefties, but .391/.429/.696 in 29 career PAs does not scream NECESSARY STRICT PLATOON.

Can somebody please put Ralph Kiner out of his misery?

Howard Stern producer Gary “Bababooey” Dell’Abate threw out the ceremonial first pitch as the host of Autism Awareness Day. He didn’t get the ball close to the plate
― velko, Saturday, 9 May 2009 20:24 (seventeen years ago)
no, he didn't, as I could see even from Sec 537.
what was wrong w/ Kiner? he's been OK the last few times I heard him; just old.
Pirates looked as bad in the field vs Mets as the Nats did 2 Saturdays ago, and I didn't think that was possible.
― Dr Morbius, Saturday, 9 May 2009 22:47 (seventeen years ago)
btw, first place.
Pelfrey is 4-0; over 28 innings: 14 BB, 6 K.
― Dr Morbius, Saturday, 9 May 2009 23:02 (seventeen years ago)
6 runs, 1 earned
how many games have been submarined by their defense this year?
― cumlords 2pac big please talk to this sucker (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 12 May 2009 01:50 (seventeen years ago)
you know, as some seamheads have pointed out, letting the pitchers off scotfree for allowing unearned runs to score makes no sense. This is a flaw of ERA, even when "adjusted."
― Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 12 May 2009 12:28 (seventeen years ago)
