Dr Morbius, Thursday, 30 August 2007 21:09 (eighteen years ago)

First attempt at a six-out save in eight years, apparently?

(No need to apologize, Dr M.)

Andy K, Thursday, 30 August 2007 21:10 (eighteen years ago)

I remain guardedly optimistic only bcz the last 2 weeks of Sept the Mets play Fla & Wash.

Dr Morbius, Friday, 31 August 2007 17:52 (eighteen years ago)

Man Alou didn't seem to lose a step since coming back, he's so consistent. You think if he wasn't injured so much in his career he could have had Hall of Fame potential.

Michael F Gill, Tuesday, 4 September 2007 21:25 (eighteen years ago)

That shot Moises Alou hit against the Reds yesterday was a moonshot.

Alou has probably missed about three seasons of games, not including 50 or so to a strike. He would probably be over 2500 hits and 400 HRs by this point without the injuries. Alou also didn't become a regular everyday player until he was 25-26.

earlnash, Tuesday, 4 September 2007 23:37 (eighteen years ago)

Oh ffs wiffle ball does NOT screw up your swing.

Andy K, Wednesday, 5 September 2007 18:15 (eighteen years ago)

oh man, last night was the best Keith game I've heard all year... he covered everything from Hugo Chavez to Griffey being a notorious prima donna to the SNY p.r. guy's diet. Gary C finally said, "You don't know what we'll see next in this game, or what you'll say."

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 5 September 2007 18:41 (eighteen years ago)

The New York Mets today announced that National Baseball Hall of Famers Tom Seaver and Yogi Berra, along with Mets legends Ed Charles, Bud Harrelson, Ed Kranepool, and Ron Swoboda will join Joan Hodges and her family to celebrate Gil Hodges' induction into the United States Marine Corps Sports Hall of Fame this Friday night, Sept. 7 at Shea Stadium. The on-field ceremony honoring Hodges will take place at 6:30 p.m. before the Mets host the Houston Astros. Hodges' Dodgers teammates Ralph Branca and Joe Pignatano also will attend the ceremony. A 30-piece Marine Corps Band will be present to perform the Marine Corps Hymn in Gil's honor.

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 13 September 2007 16:52 (eighteen years ago)

I don't know if Mota will make the post season roster, I'd take Schoenweiss or Mr. Witness Protection Program over him at the moment.
