i quite enjoyed yesterday's 1.200 slugging from elvis andrus

J0rdan S., Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:25 (fifteen years ago)

Having missed out on Howie Kendrick's 2-HR day, it comes down to young Brandon Belt to pick up the slack. Swing for the fences, young man!

i was feeling really good about today after miguel cabrera was 2/2 with 2 homers... then my OF & util went 0/15

J0rdan S., Sunday, 3 April 2011 23:33 (fifteen years ago)

some dude in my other league just collected 8 hrs today!

Classic second-guess, but...shouldn't Lind be taking the first pitch during the 9th yesterday, after Nathan's just walked two guys in a row? Anyway, it's a good feeling to care enough to even bother watching. That hasn't been true for a long time with me.

clemenza, Monday, 4 April 2011 14:47 (fifteen years ago)

I KNOW! that's what i was saying. Nathin was obv having some control issues - way swing at the first thing you see?!

aside from that - E5's continued presence at third continues to baffle/enrage.

ooops - this should probably be on the J's thread.

lol - just Napoli.

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Monday, 4 April 2011 16:59 (fifteen years ago)

Sorry--my Lind post above was meant for the Jays page. I probably saw Thermo's name and thought that's where I was.

clemenza, Monday, 4 April 2011 19:41 (fifteen years ago)

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 April 2011 22:04 (fifteen years ago)

it resolved itself now because leo nunez walked a guy but say i had two pitchers combine for 8 Ks and 0 BBs, what does it get calculated as?

J0rdan S., Thursday, 7 April 2011 02:23 (fifteen years ago)

oh, duh, sorry! i have this thread bookmarked so when i brought it up i didn't see the context. i thought you were bragging 2011 about the 3 points you gained tonight

Z S, Thursday, 7 April 2011 02:33 (fifteen years ago)

Not exactly sure what you're asking, Jordan. Had your staff finished with 8 Ks and 0 BBs for the day, the number of Ks would merely factor into the ratio, while you'd have no additional walks to factor. If your staff had 50 Ks and 20 BBs going into today (for a K/BB of 2.5), your new ratio would be 2.9 (58/20).

Andy K, Thursday, 7 April 2011 02:45 (fifteen years ago)

oh yeah i guess that makes sense

J0rdan S., Thursday, 7 April 2011 02:47 (fifteen years ago)

I'M NOT REALLY A "MATH PERSON"

J0rdan S., Thursday, 7 April 2011 02:48 (fifteen years ago)

The K/BB stat isn't an average of each day's K/BB, but the season's Ks divided by the season's BBs.

Andy K, Thursday, 7 April 2011 02:48 (fifteen years ago)

yeah i got it

J0rdan S., Thursday, 7 April 2011 02:48 (fifteen years ago)

lol j0rdan

johnny crunch, Thursday, 7 April 2011 03:02 (fifteen years ago)

J0rdan S., Thursday, 7 April 2011 03:08 (fifteen years ago)

hahaha :)

Z S, Thursday, 7 April 2011 03:09 (fifteen years ago)

hey guys - what did i miss?

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Thursday, 7 April 2011 03:17 (fifteen years ago)

i originally read your question as asking to calculate the k/bb ratio for your infield.

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Thursday, 7 April 2011 03:21 (fifteen years ago)

Nobody's going to roll the dice on lol Willie Bloomquist? (ranked #6 for the season according to yahoo)

NoTimeBeforeTime, Thursday, 7 April 2011 15:40 (fifteen years ago)

Stephen Drew is surely coming back soon, right?

reggaeton for the painfully alone (polyphonic), Thursday, 7 April 2011 17:25 (fifteen years ago)

they are saying tomorrow. hate that stealth "not on the dl but not playing" shit.

also I didn't start Halladay today in my $ league. FUCK DAY GAMES.

bnw, Thursday, 7 April 2011 21:28 (fifteen years ago)

i have drew in my two other leagues -- picked up yunel in one, now starting bloomquist -- starting infante in the other

drew did pinch hit the other day

J0rdan S., Thursday, 7 April 2011 21:30 (fifteen years ago)

wow...swish broke nishioka's leg today.

j.q higgins, Thursday, 7 April 2011 22:18 (fifteen years ago)

damn dude. and err thanks for the fantasy advice i guess. i had Tosh.0 Nishioka on two other money teams, that sucks for kaz matsui 2..

DROPPED

sanskrit, Thursday, 7 April 2011 23:22 (fifteen years ago)

So, somehow I have 4 closers right now. I might be willing to deal one of them for...

1) a strong everyday catcher (in this scenario, I would throw in Michael Napoli, who is great when he plays - right now he's getting platooned yet again for no fucking reason, just like last year)

2) a strong outfielder (in this scenario, I would throw in one of my 6 outfielders to replace the outfielder that would hypothetically be dealt to me.

3) if anyone wants to take a look at my lineup and sees a deal that would make sense for both of us, let me know.

Z S, Friday, 8 April 2011 00:01 (fifteen years ago)

has Papelbon lost the closer job yet? how many saves is he at?

sanskrit, Friday, 8 April 2011 13:35 (fifteen years ago)

I believe he hasnt had the chance to blow any..

I was looking at polyphonics position players last night.. goddamn!

strongly recommend. unless you're a bitch (mayor jingleberries), Friday, 8 April 2011 16:41 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, his keepers alone (Crawford, Cargo, Posey, Hamilton) are a solid core.

Z S, Friday, 8 April 2011 16:48 (fifteen years ago)

If it makes you feel better I lose Crawford and Hamilton after this year.

reggaeton for the painfully alone (polyphonic), Friday, 8 April 2011 19:32 (fifteen years ago)

it does.
that and the knowledge i will have Heyward for 8.

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Friday, 8 April 2011 19:37 (fifteen years ago)

your team is going to be pretty awesome in six years

sanskrit, Friday, 8 April 2011 20:23 (fifteen years ago)

William Bloompsquist for SS/3B backup (probably more value than Tejada since he's leading off, stealing the occasional base, anyway) now that Manny is gone.

Andy K, Friday, 8 April 2011 21:01 (fifteen years ago)

just grab Casey Kotchman. if hes good enough for Tampa Bay to replace Manny, he is good enough for your fantasy team amirite.

strongly recommend. unless you're a bitch (mayor jingleberries), Friday, 8 April 2011 21:02 (fifteen years ago)

My downward spiral begins: -29 points in the standings for me today, dead last in R and HR, pitching staff slipping from great to merely good. At least I was in second for a day earlier this week, it's looking like that'll be the highlight of my season.

Needed 3B/SS backup and my NSB is currently -1.

Andy K, Saturday, 9 April 2011 15:11 (fifteen years ago)

What the hell? Tied for second??? Think it's time for a SALARY DUMP.
