francisF, Sunday, 13 February 2011 18:03 (fifteen years ago)

teams that haven't weighed in yet:

impatient youth (heyward!)
BJ Upton Top Ranking (Hanley Ramirez!)
Kneel before Zaun! (Longoria!)

fffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu (Z S), Monday, 14 February 2011 02:01 (fifteen years ago)

Impatient Youth is me -- I said a few months ago that I was dropping out. Still hoping somebody is willing to pick up my team, but if not, Heyward is going to be a mighty tempting early pick in this league.

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Monday, 14 February 2011 22:29 (fifteen years ago)

I'm going to follow you guys all season long! For the LOLs! The sub-boards that I do follow, like Comics/Cooking/Baseball, I follow closely. I just don't want to play fantasy sports anymore, it quit being fun. :/

ok, i feel stupid for even deliberating on it for so long but I'm keeping Napoli over Denard Span. (my main concern w/ Napoli was that he'd just be platooning at 1B, but I forgot that it's the AL and he can fill in at DH too, as well as the occasional turn at catcher)

So, just to make it official, that leaves me with:

Cain
Brett Anderson
Reyes
Cano
Napoli

you are taking me apart, Lisa! (Z S), Thursday, 17 February 2011 02:52 (fifteen years ago)

I thought Napoli was the starting catcher. Is Torrealba starting?

reggaeton for the painfully alone (polyphonic), Thursday, 17 February 2011 07:29 (fifteen years ago)

Pretty sure Torrealba is starting, yep. :/

you are taking me apart, Lisa! (Z S), Thursday, 17 February 2011 14:00 (fifteen years ago)

fine fine fine

Hanley Ramírez 27
Francisco Liriano 27
Adam Jones 25
Ian Stewart 25
Jonathong Sánchez 28

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Saturday, 19 February 2011 01:38 (fifteen years ago)

so man, most of the SP aces are already taken.

Taken: Lincecum, Hernandez, Johnson, Jiminez, Lester, Price, Kershaw, Verlander, Greinke, Hanson, Ltos, Liriano, Hamels, Gallardo, Weaver, Cain

Available to draft: Halladay, Wainwright, Lee, Sabathia, and Carpenter

OH YEAAAAH! (Z S), Saturday, 19 February 2011 22:50 (fifteen years ago)

you have to spend two picks for joba. because he is a fatty.

bnw, Saturday, 19 February 2011 22:57 (fifteen years ago)

actually my favorite part of fantasy baseball is building my pitching rotation from the april waiver wire. aces are overrated. (says the guy who has lester and j.johnson as keepers)

ciderpress, Saturday, 19 February 2011 23:04 (fifteen years ago)

ok, tonight i will lock the league and set keepers. so speak now or forever yadda yadda...

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Tuesday, 1 March 2011 16:23 (fifteen years ago)

I look forward to finishing in the bpttom tier again. I tried to mollify myself in thinking that my keepers would make my team sucking so hard last year worth it this year, but we shall see.

Gardenhire said Sunday that Morneau was scheduled to see a doctor in order to gain clearance to play in games, but he didn't have anything to add on Monday. "I have no idea," said Gardenhire. "I'm not even getting into that. That's done. Don't ask me about him anymore. You're going to start tweeting it and blogging it. That's over with."

OK Gardy that's GREAT.

Uh.

Shirley MODOK (Andy K), Tuesday, 1 March 2011 19:49 (fifteen years ago)

Thermo, can you please swap out Morneau for Andrew McCutchen? Thanks and sorry.

Opening day ages:

Weaver 28
Greinke 27
Fielder 26
Gallardo 25
McCutchen 24

Shirley MODOK (Andy K), Tuesday, 1 March 2011 19:58 (fifteen years ago)

for some insane reason I joined another keeper league with $ involved. there is no age limit on keepers but you can only keep players drafted during/after round 10. weird, eh?

bnw, Tuesday, 1 March 2011 20:09 (fifteen years ago)

np. *crosses McCutchen off list*

xpost

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Tuesday, 1 March 2011 20:10 (fifteen years ago)

ya - i've heard of that before. that way there isn't a monopoly on elite talent and it's much easier to manage than having to run through everybody's age (ours is still better tho).

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Tuesday, 1 March 2011 20:11 (fifteen years ago)

*adds Morneau onto the "maybe if shit gets crazy" list*

last year i didn't check anyone for injuries (\_(OO)-/) and ended up drafting Brandon Webb, Carlos Beltran AND Huston Street

Z S, Tuesday, 1 March 2011 20:13 (fifteen years ago)

i'll stick w/ the 5 i posted upthread, even tho it sounds like kendry may not be ready by opening day :(

johnny crunch, Tuesday, 1 March 2011 20:24 (fifteen years ago)

it is done.

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 2 March 2011 04:23 (fifteen years ago)

you can see the first 5 rounds of the draft under "draft results". if you see a mistake FOR THE LOVE OF GOD please let me know asap.

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 2 March 2011 04:24 (fifteen years ago)

mine look good!

*plots pick #13*

Z S, Wednesday, 2 March 2011 04:34 (fifteen years ago)

I'm supposed to have Lincecum instead of Danks.

j/k

The top 10 of Lester, Andrus, Cano, Bailey, Mark Reynolds, Rasmus, Quentin, Jorge de la Rosa, King Felix, and Adam Lind is a lolzy traet.

My Urine No Longer Smells Like Asparagus (Leee), Wednesday, 2 March 2011 05:42 (fifteen years ago)

And hey! I have what amounts to our #2 pick overall! ^_^ SKINNY PANDA AHOY.

My Urine No Longer Smells Like Asparagus (Leee), Wednesday, 2 March 2011 05:44 (fifteen years ago)

is there any way to add or subtract a round to the draft? having 5 keeper picks has given us an odd number of actual draft rounds, which handicaps the people who pick late in odd numbered rounds (i.e. me)

ciderpress, Wednesday, 2 March 2011 07:21 (fifteen years ago)

i guess it's probably locked to # of roster spaces though :/

ciderpress, Wednesday, 2 March 2011 07:27 (fifteen years ago)

ya - i hadn't thought abt that. oh well - do we really care about pick #20 whatever?!

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 2 March 2011 16:18 (fifteen years ago)

and ya - 'tis locked.

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 2 March 2011 16:18 (fifteen years ago)

uh who is the 9th best player in the draft pool.. I would imagine grabbing a closer soonish is a good idea since I have no rps whatsoever and its already round 6.

strongly recommend. unless you're a bitch (mayor jingleberries), Wednesday, 2 March 2011 18:34 (fifteen years ago)

9th best player left in my estimation is Nick Punto

johnny crunch, Wednesday, 2 March 2011 18:37 (fifteen years ago)

Does everyone else still see the people who have already been drafted in the predraft rankings?

reggaeton for the painfully alone (polyphonic), Wednesday, 2 March 2011 18:44 (fifteen years ago)

Is the list of available players up somewhere or does more commissioner work have to be done? no pressure thermo, just bored at work

strongly recommend. unless you're a bitch (mayor jingleberries), Wednesday, 2 March 2011 19:13 (fifteen years ago)

i've done everything i needed to do. whatever yahoo lists is what they list.
Z S was awesome enough to list all our keepers upthread tho. which, aside from the Morneau/McCutchen swap, should be accurate.

when i was plugging in the keeper picks it was greying out everyone selected. going by yahoo's rankings, #s1-12 (or maybe 13) were all taken followed by a clump of old people about 5 or so deep then another half dozen more keeper pics before things meshed into more of a 50/50 ratio for a while.

ciderpress, Wednesday, 2 March 2011 19:57 (fifteen years ago)

Jimmy Rollins what in the fuck are you doing at #14

Delmon Young: 43rd best available player.

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 2 March 2011 21:37 (fifteen years ago)

You gotta take Y! rankings with a huge grain of salt, of course.

reggaeton for the painfully alone (polyphonic), Wednesday, 2 March 2011 21:48 (fifteen years ago)

Are yahoo's rankings based on the conventional wisdom of all the mock drafts going on?

strongly recommend. unless you're a bitch (mayor jingleberries), Wednesday, 2 March 2011 21:52 (fifteen years ago)

I kept thinking someone who didn't play last year would pick up my team just for the chance to get Heyward/McCann/Wainwright(RIP)!
