Morbs,
How much more... how did you put it... oh yeah "regressing" do you foresee for Maine?
Shasta
― Steve Shasta, Monday, 21 May 2007 01:50 (nineteen years ago)
not too much more, Herr Schadenfreude.
― Dr Morbius, Monday, 21 May 2007 13:17 (nineteen years ago)
also he's still 10th in the league in VORP. Maybe regression will stop sooner than Bonds'.
― Dr Morbius, Monday, 21 May 2007 17:17 (nineteen years ago)
You're right, they both have Walks and Homers in common.
― Steve Shasta, Monday, 21 May 2007 17:18 (nineteen years ago)
you're not going to be like this when I get in town? (Mets-Giants begin 4pm local time on 31st btw)
― Dr Morbius, Monday, 21 May 2007 17:22 (nineteen years ago)
I'm gonna be in NYC dude, we've been over this.
― Steve Shasta, Monday, 21 May 2007 17:29 (nineteen years ago)
ah, you said on Thursday eve you'd be around.
― Dr Morbius, Monday, 21 May 2007 17:40 (nineteen years ago)
you're right! i thought i was leaving on thursday night but it's friday morning.
― Steve Shasta, Monday, 21 May 2007 17:50 (nineteen years ago)
Where are we meeting to watch the game?
Is Alex gonna be around?
I'll be here on Thursday. Morbs and I are seeing the Sox-A's on the Monday.
― Alex in SF, Monday, 21 May 2007 17:52 (nineteen years ago)
Alex where do you go to watch games?
I like Yancy's on Irving/9th. Is there somewhere more central?
― Steve Shasta, Monday, 21 May 2007 17:54 (nineteen years ago)
I've still never been to Zeitgeist, but perhaps not a TV situation?
― Dr Morbius, Monday, 21 May 2007 18:08 (nineteen years ago)
I don't think they have TVs there. Toronado has a couple small sets, and the beer selection is one of the best in the nation/world.
There's a place I went a couple weeks ago in North Beach/Chinatown that was on the smaller/mellower side for a sports bar and had 4 lcd plasmas, good specials and service. I can't remember the name of it though...
― Steve Shasta, Monday, 21 May 2007 18:12 (nineteen years ago)
it's called (don't laugh) Woody Zips: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=1609+Powell+Street,+San+Francisco,+CA,+94133&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=38.144864,63.984375&ie=UTF8&ll=37.799798,-122.410634&spn=0.009308,0.015621&z=16&om=1

nice, but I'm staying on Henry St, and will likely need to stumble up from a nap after getting in around 2pm. Closer the better.
― Dr Morbius, Monday, 21 May 2007 18:18 (nineteen years ago)
Haha, Alex would you know if Uncle Bert's Place still open?
That's a pretty funny dive. I'd love to check it out again.
― Steve Shasta, Monday, 21 May 2007 18:42 (nineteen years ago)
Uncle Bert's is listed in my Rough Guide to SF. You could be my wingmen.
― Dr Morbius, Monday, 21 May 2007 18:47 (nineteen years ago)
(unless u want to cede those duties to M White & Shakey Mo)
― Dr Morbius, Monday, 21 May 2007 18:48 (nineteen years ago)
I checked with some of my coworkers in the hood, they say it closed a year or so ago.
― Steve Shasta, Monday, 21 May 2007 18:53 (nineteen years ago)
or it seems to have turned into a bar called Mix:

Um I watch games at wherever I end up so Waziema, Hukilau, that place on Page & Divis, Mad Dog. . . Zeitgeist does have one TV at least, IIRC.
Yancy's is good too.
― Alex in SF, Monday, 21 May 2007 19:00 (nineteen years ago)
Elixir? 16/Guerrero?
or maybe it'll raiin in NY and we can just go to Zeitgeist.
― Dr Morbius, Monday, 21 May 2007 19:12 (nineteen years ago)
that place on Page & Divis = The Page. I know for a fact this is M. White's local. it's probably the closest for Morbs (15 min. walk, 10 for a NYer). If you've got a transit pass for the week just take the 24 over the hill. i would vote Yes on this (2 TVs, mellow, close).
zeitgeist is indeed a well-deserved SF institution, i just think it wouldn't be any fun to try to watch a game.
waziema is a cool, low-lit ethiopian cafe/club, i have never watched a game here! wtf! mad dog and toronado are not far, just down the hill in lower haight. toronado has a blaring RnR jukebox but a super good beer selection.
yancy's is nice because it's got that great TV and it's pretty friendly. i'd push Yancy's but it might be a pain to get to for Le Morbs.
― Steve Shasta, Monday, 21 May 2007 19:14 (nineteen years ago)
well, Page or Yancy's perhaps then. Make sure Michael & Shakey come to cluck their tongues at us! Afterwards I'll be going to Tubesteak Thursday in the Tenderloin.
― Dr Morbius, Monday, 21 May 2007 19:24 (nineteen years ago)
Whatever you guys decide on, I am cool with. Yancy's is just one 30 minute underground ride away from Morbs need (Tubesteak is at 133 Turk, right?)
― Alex in SF, Monday, 21 May 2007 19:53 (nineteen years ago)
yeeeeees
― Dr Morbius, Monday, 21 May 2007 19:59 (nineteen years ago)
Delgado dropped to sixth = MAGIC!
― Dr Morbius, Thursday, 24 May 2007 14:31 (nineteen years ago)

― Michael F Gill, Friday, 25 May 2007 06:38 (nineteen years ago)
It was nice of 3/4 of the umpiring crew to give Smoltzie Asshole a gift.
― Dr Morbius, Friday, 25 May 2007 13:35 (nineteen years ago)
squeeeeeeeeeeeeze
― David R., Friday, 25 May 2007 14:07 (nineteen years ago)

ahh forgot

in the first game of the bos-atl series last weekend, all of fenway broke into the chant while the sox were merrily raping the christ out of atlanta. it was pretty hilar. normally i am pretty embarassed by it (and the chop), but i will embrace anything that upsets morbz
― cankles, Friday, 25 May 2007 14:48 (nineteen years ago)
we do it at Shea on the exit ramps when Mets beat Braves. it's empowering.
― Dr Morbius, Friday, 25 May 2007 15:16 (nineteen years ago)
btw next Tuesday at Shea is Zito vs Perez, w/ $9 seats! I'll be packing for SF, but might manage it. Anyone else?
― Dr Morbius, Friday, 25 May 2007 17:43 (nineteen years ago)
i might be up for that. does it really take you a long time to pack for trips?
― hstencil, Friday, 25 May 2007 20:57 (nineteen years ago)
yeah. you don't wanna to know. (also, there is film writing deadlines and shit)
Pedro in the dugout!
― Dr Morbius, Saturday, 26 May 2007 17:24 (nineteen years ago)
Looks like Delgado is finally heating up
― Michael F Gill, Sunday, 27 May 2007 00:26 (nineteen years ago)

― maura, Monday, 28 May 2007 13:26 (nineteen years ago)
