He's just cranky 'cause every single foul tip seems to catch him in a sensitive spot.

Rock Hardy, Monday, 23 April 2007 19:26 (nineteen years ago)

Easley!

Michael F Gill, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 01:59 (nineteen years ago)

endy is the greatest

maura, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 02:42 (nineteen years ago)

Endy with the surprise drag bunt! Plus a hilarious balk!

Michael F Gill, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 02:43 (nineteen years ago)

funniest balk ever.

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 13:24 (nineteen years ago)

mookieproof, Thursday, 26 April 2007 21:31 (nineteen years ago)

I'm not sure you should platoon a 50-year-old pitcher at first, tho

Dr Morbius, Friday, 27 April 2007 16:16 (nineteen years ago)

John Maine, STUD

Dr Morbius, Monday, 30 April 2007 15:46 (nineteen years ago)

...but ravaged El Duque to DL with bursitis, Chan Ho Park up to start tonight (which means I shd probably watch a Doris Day movie instead of the game).

Dr Morbius, Monday, 30 April 2007 19:09 (nineteen years ago)

Lots of low scoring drama in the Washington series, which is odd because both the ballpark atmosphere and the announcers seem to naturally deflate any kind of excitement or spectacle about the games.

I've been impressed with Green so far in the first month. Wright and Delgado seem a bit cold, but their defense hasn't suffered.

Michael F Gill, Monday, 30 April 2007 19:59 (nineteen years ago)

of course, I took Green for my HACKING MASS team.

Dr Morbius, Monday, 30 April 2007 20:19 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, and I put Wright on my home run derby list. oops.

Michael F Gill, Monday, 30 April 2007 21:06 (nineteen years ago)

chad NO park (come back lima & bring yer wife!)

gershy, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 03:40 (nineteen years ago)

um, no.

maura, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 12:12 (nineteen years ago)

not that i want park there, but lima time's clock should be unplugged and the backup battery should be flung out a window

(he's currently playing in the mexican league, fyi)

maura, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 12:14 (nineteen years ago)

FREE JOSE LIMA

David R., Tuesday, 1 May 2007 13:28 (nineteen years ago)

into the wilds far far away from shea

maura, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 21:56 (nineteen years ago)

Wright is back! and the young pitchers are wild.

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 13:36 (nineteen years ago)

Man Maine looked awesome on Sunday.

RFK is just a terrible place to see a game, though; the biggest rise it got out of anybody in my section was the between-inning presidents' race, when Roosevelt began prematurely celebrating ten feet before the finish line. Guy behind me: "C'MON TEDDY! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?"

govern yourself accordingly, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 18:42 (nineteen years ago)

Please tell me this wasn't on the Jumbotron.

David R., Wednesday, 2 May 2007 18:44 (nineteen years ago)

Shit, I've never seen the presidents' race. Pics? Does FDR ever roll to victory?

It's the Good Oliver on the mound thru five: 1 bb, 10 k!

Sheeeit, Green is up to .364.

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 18:48 (nineteen years ago)

Green is on fire.

I think I've seen the presidents race every single time the Nationals play the Mets! Isn't Teddy the one who always loses?

Michael F Gill, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 18:54 (nineteen years ago)

10 Ks on SEVENTY PITCHES?

(Aaron Boone @ 1B?)

David R., Wednesday, 2 May 2007 18:55 (nineteen years ago)

ENDY singles in two from #2!

I might hafta watch the rerun of this tonight to balance the upcoming Sat-nite dread of watching CHAN HO vs Brandon Webb.

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 18:58 (nineteen years ago)

man, that Joe Smith is in every day lately.

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 19:16 (nineteen years ago)

still hasn't given up a run!

I can't believe the good Dr's never seen that video of Teddy zip-lining in on Opening Day. And he still didn't win.

govern yourself accordingly, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 19:26 (nineteen years ago)

What is DW's fielding problem?

David R., Wednesday, 2 May 2007 19:27 (nineteen years ago)

"trying to do too much"

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 19:35 (nineteen years ago)

Feliciano, like Smith, has allowed no runs yet.

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 3 May 2007 14:17 (nineteen years ago)

and Reyes and Maine are NL Player and Pitcher for April.

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 3 May 2007 15:40 (nineteen years ago)

Park is back down in the minors, so I guess it will be Jorge Sosa on Sat-day.

Michael F Gill, Friday, 4 May 2007 02:44 (nineteen years ago)

Easley again! Although Valverde literally lobbed that one in.

Michael F Gill, Friday, 4 May 2007 04:10 (nineteen years ago)

nice -- Maine vs Big Ugly tonight, and my DirecTV is out for the first time. :(

Dr Morbius, Friday, 4 May 2007 13:47 (nineteen years ago)

Maine's ERA up! to 1.37.

Julio F bombs the Ugly (oldest batter-pitcher ever).

Dr Morbius, Saturday, 5 May 2007 16:49 (nineteen years ago)

Old Man Time strikes again.

I don't have high hopes for Sosa in Chase Field tonight, but hopefully he can keep the game close.

Michael F Gill, Saturday, 5 May 2007 19:04 (nineteen years ago)

send pelfry down, needs more "seasoning"

gershy, Monday, 7 May 2007 03:47 (nineteen years ago)

he hasn't been as bad the last two starts, just has gotten no run support

Michael F Gill, Monday, 7 May 2007 13:22 (nineteen years ago)

yes, in favor of who? I don't think they want Humber up yet.

Dr Morbius, Monday, 7 May 2007 13:55 (nineteen years ago)

Humber Humber?

Leee, Monday, 7 May 2007 17:00 (nineteen years ago)

I totally missed that Burgos was sent to New Orleans.

Dr Morbius, Monday, 7 May 2007 17:07 (nineteen years ago)

what's with the Mets' pitching to various Molinas?

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 13:53 (nineteen years ago)

The pitching wasn't the problem yesterday, if any of the Mets could have caught the ball it would have been a fairly close game.

Steve Shasta, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 14:11 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, Shawn Green is the new...Dave Kingman? (at least in the field)

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 15:29 (nineteen years ago)

I'd agree the defense needs more work than pitching/batting at the moment. Perez needs to work on keeping focus when he gives up a run or has a tough innning.

Michael F Gill, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 23:09 (nineteen years ago)

i politely disagree, he had to get 5 outs in the 5th inning last night and his manager made him put Bonds on intentionally twice. only 2 of the 9 runs were earned.

Steve Shasta, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 23:31 (nineteen years ago)

True, he should have been out of that inning a couple of times.

Michael F Gill, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 02:14 (nineteen years ago)

CARLOS THE BARBER
