Plus of course that epic 160 out of 250 last innings of the last tour here.
Can we start comparing him with the bloke at the other end yet?

Matches, Innings, NO, Runs, Average, HS, 50's, 100's, 150's, 200's
VVS Laxman - 49, 3282, 281, 45.58, 6, 18, 2, 1
S Tendulkar - 110, 8964, 217, 55.33, 31, 36, 10, 2
You can compare Laxman to Tendulkar if you wish, but there is really no comparison. Tendulkar has been performing at a great level for 6 years more than Laxman. His average is 10 higher. Tendulkar has 67 innings over 50 (60%) of which he has converted 53% to 100's. Laxman is nowhere near those figures.
Laxman may be the next Tendulkar, but is isn't one yet.
(These stats do not include this current test.)

Laxman had an appalling start to his test career. Since the 167 at the SCG he has been magnificent. His record against Australia is
much better than Tendulkar's (albeit from fewer tests). At the
moment, the comparison does not flatter him.

laxman is as inconsistent as tendulkar is now but is far more classy with the bat.compulsive stroke player.tendulkar can play all kinds of shots in and out of the book.tendulkar again looked a bit better than tendulkar when he was 28
