the primary and lingering impression is one of being cheated. u have michael mann and u have ddl and this is what u get??? i mean its a dece movie or whatever w/some nice aspects but shit. maybe their styles sap each others energies or something. more likely they both mailed it in for whatever reasons. like why did ddl choose to play this guy as streetwise northeasterner. no doubt hes somewhere on the cutting room floor muttering disdainfully "fuckin hurons". there was so much almost michael mann vibes going around. just when u thought he was abt to hit u w/some real shit itd get all fussy again. even madeleine stowe failed to titlate. also i cant stand it when the huge hateable coward redeems himself in the end. this is considered a classic plot device how. everyone just wants to see white indian bro take his scalp. let us hav it. wtf.

collateral is super-80s!!! i just mean like--except for the technological advances that movie could have been released in 1986

collateral looks v. 2000 decade i think its grainy and bright with darkness it doesnt look anything like 1986 remembers looking like - i mean i dont really remember 1986 so im not gonna stick hard and fast on this but yeah reasons why i think collateral is the least 80s of the mann movies i can think of right now

yeah HD is basically what i meant by technological advances so i beat yr trump card

michael mann via miami vice had a huge hand in defining the 80s popular aesthetic - prob because his work is just so so aesthetic - i mean u dont watch back to the future or et and go omg waht an 80s look - or at least not nearly as much as u do w/miami vice

so michael mann making michael mann movies all along is maybe more accurate - tho the dif between the 2 miami vices in instructive - hes def dialed up the grit recently while revealing more blatantly his disinterest in plot - those aspects seem pretty internety to me

wanted to say that revelling in circumstance seemed v. post-90s to me but i realistically just dont have a solid enuff background in 80s movies so i had to fold

or really just get sleuth channel on yr TV, tons of robbery homicide + h:lots + murder she wrote

lindsay lohan has no leg and is not really who she is and who everyone says she is but a stripper called Dakota Moss who has to decode the terrible secret of her existence with only her super bionic hand, also scene in which she tries to sew her own finger back on and scene where she is allowed on a bus with towel drenched in blood also A+ for possibly the first movie ever to be based on a Britney Spears video. Also, scene where she has vigorous sex with some guy to prove she isn't who he thinks she is is about the most logical, and the song at the beginning is good I wonder who it is by.

once watched the keep while tripping and at the end when the place gets covered in mist it started spilling out of the television and filling up the living room

naw doesnt matter - i just put mine in an old yogurt container - but ive made it hotel pans too when i was cooking for the masses
