"As I approached the pay machine, I noticed an early 20's female swiping her card over and over. As I got closer I spied that it said declined. She looked at me in defeat and walked back to her early 90's Sentra and got in. I immediately knew that the 20 dollar bill in my hand was hers, so quickly walked over and said "this is for you". In an instance her eyes were filled with tears. I said "put the whole thing in your tank" she replied "thank you so much" as she walked pass me crying to the attendant. By this time I'm filling up my tank and get another call to actually give her the 7$ in cash i have in my glove compartment. I walk over and say and this is for food. She breaks down. I say "You realize that this is always available when you let people support you, to not let your pride get in the way of asking for support, we are all in this together" I asked her to focus on all the blessings that are in her life right now because focusing on what got her here will ONLY create more of that". We hugged with no names exchanged and i got in the car and drove off. My buddy asked what/why i did that, and I explained that 9 months ago I was in the same place, and that I was too prideful to ask for support. Longer post test (trying to figure the error of my ways):
The Eastern provinces with the strong separatist movements (Donetsk and Luhansk) may be of more strategic value to Moscow as thorns in Ukraine's side. Putin wants a weak central government in all of Ukraine, which will be easier if these two stay in the fold. With Crimean autonomy/annexation, at least, there's a $45 billion windfall, now they can renege on the long term gas discounts Kiev demanded for the lease. Not sure Donetsk and Luhansk, despite being the industrial rust belt of Ukraine, have anywhere near that net value.
