My husband's been taken off of the blood pressure meds that were keeping the clouds and rain away, so I'm hopeful about our situation.

I've been writing the woman that broke my drought over the holiday break.
She lives 1000 miles away. She suggested we meet halfway. She's also a staffer for a luxury hotel chain (employee rates!)
So we met for an extra long weekend last week. Even got out of the hotel room for a few hours. Made a casual plan to see each other again.
Is it strange to have this kind of relationship with a pen pal?
One of the best weekends ever.
(side note: On my return trip, I was pulled over by State Troopers in an unfamiliar state about one hour after smoking a joint. I told them the location of the three roaches in my car and let them search the rest of my vehicle. They did not take me to jail. Still get chills when I think about it, though)

Doesn't sound that strange to me: I've been in a similar situation with someone who's from another country, and it was cool.

I'm not gonna front and act like I am completely faultless. My anxiety tends to go out of whack whenever I am trying to enter a relationship and despite my best efforts, frequent solicitations of advice, and every kind of meditation possible, the only solution that ever works for me is having one solitary beer, which isn't very practical in most situations.

it's just that, when I first asked her out and realized she wasn't interested, I backed off, cuz I know how annoying it is when someone can't hear 'no'. When she began flirting w/ me, I recognized it, but didn't assume anything. When I flirted back, she didn't duck it, didn't sidestep it, she accepted it and returned it, and even admitted she liked me. But when it came time for us to say what's what, all of a sudden she 'doesn't know what she wants', but won't even like be up for a simple innocent date.

I just kinda feel like she was flirting way too heavy to just pull out the "ehh I dunno" card, I mean if I had been the one that initiated it, that might be a different story. I grew to really really like her and now she's kind of cold and sidestepping invites or finding excuses not to accept them.

So I'm just gonna disappear for a while, and take my own advice and not base my own happiness on this one success/failure......or try, at least.
