ass-to-ass w/ hand on her hip is the best compromise I've found

Sometimes I have fallen asleep with hand on her hip or otherwise lightly snuggly, and then she tries to move my hand or roll over or something, and I get really grumbly in my sleep and object and even say aloud, "No!" I don't remember doing these things, but I hear about them later.

I have the same problem - absolutely impossible to sleep spooning, almost as impossible to sleep touching. Does everyone feel like this or are we just a bunch of message board addicts with greater than normal fears of intimacy?

No, I can quite happily fall asleep tucked away as either spoon...

That's very thoughtful, to include a napkin.

And one that's already folded, to boot.

Basically I don't sleep while touching at all. And every time I fussily arrange my pillows at night and sink gratefully into them, I feel a twinge of guilt that I'm depriving my partner of something sweet and important, that I'm some kind of overly fussy neurotic who can't relax if there's any stimuli. Also if I don't support my feet the right way etc, I wake up with horrible back pain, so this isn't just fussiness on my part.
How sad would you be if yr partner slept like a corpse, with hands folded on stomach, and didn't want to be touched? I wonder how much of a priority I should make it to find a new & better mattress so that maybe I don't have to do this.

I have to admit I'd find it a bit sad if I couldnt cuddle in bed, L! But then again, one's partner's comfort and health is also important!

If you married someone like that, you might need an arrangement allowing a cuddler on the side.

Spooning by itself is classic of course, but touching while sleeping is a lie we have all been told - free yourselves!
