Sounds great! I always forget that this board exists ... Here's a covers Ep I recorded a little while ago, songs by Syd Barrett, Nikki Sudden, Love, Buck Owens and Go-Betweens. http://www.sendspace.com/file/038tcb

Thoughts?

kshighway, Tuesday, 1 September 2009 23:15 (sixteen years ago)

Is it supposed to be only 13 seconds long? Nice guitar sound, what gear did you use?

the visible spectrum is rainbows (snoball), Wednesday, 2 September 2009 08:52 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, it was a half-joking "punk" song I wrote during my senior year in high school. The gear isn't great, but isn't awful.

I used:
falsetto
black Fender Strat (Mexican) in dropped D tuning
awful, awful 15watt Crate amp with built-in gain turned up
Audacity (for recording)

And that was it.

kshighway, Wednesday, 2 September 2009 15:52 (sixteen years ago)

I need to buy a Jazzmaster, basically.

kshighway, Wednesday, 2 September 2009 16:09 (sixteen years ago)

The spree continues

Hi guys!

My guy has done another Peter Gabriel remix for the Real World website. You can download samples of various songs and upload remixes to rate.

This is his version of "Games without Frontiers" and like his usual best stuff it's ambient and moody and pretty damn good.

http://www.realworldremixed.com/remix.php?remix_id=0kMlgkYb6PAKYF5R

You have to have a login to be able to vote on it/comment, but that costs nothing. Listen and rate if you want! Its v good.

someone should start an IMM soundcloud group or something. Would be cool to send tracks at each other.

latebloomer that almost sounds like some speeded-up john carpenter score

congratulations (n/a), Monday, 14 September 2009 14:00 (sixteen years ago)

awesome, i take that as a compliment!

the name was too long so he dropped "Highlander" (latebloomer), Tuesday, 15 September 2009 00:07 (sixteen years ago)

i've been posting solo home recordings at http://scarequotes.net. i'm especially happy with 'quick-change champion.'

congratulations (n/a), Wednesday, 16 September 2009 15:27 (sixteen years ago)

sounds good nick, haven't heard you sing like that before.

Ømår Littel (Jordan), Thursday, 17 September 2009 17:52 (sixteen years ago)

yeah i wanted a song i could sing in a lower register, and then i actually worked on it until it sounded the way i wanted it instead of just banging it out

congratulations (n/a), Thursday, 17 September 2009 18:12 (sixteen years ago)

lou, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 17:29 (sixteen years ago)

haha. it's v rough.

surm, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 17:31 (sixteen years ago)

Your voice!

For real?? Doesn't sound like it at all!

lou, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 17:35 (sixteen years ago)

yea it's been out of practice! : )

surm, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 17:52 (sixteen years ago)

surm your voice sounds great but those claps on the downbeat are slowly killing me

Ømår Littel (Jordan), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 17:58 (sixteen years ago)

ok... should i get rid of them completely ythink?

surm, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 18:02 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, although it does sound unfinished to me without percussion. i think some better-sounding (probably real) claps and/or tambourine on the upbeats would go a long way to keeping things moving.

Ømår Littel (Jordan), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 19:07 (sixteen years ago)

yeah i was thinking upbeat too. thanks!

droney/metal/spacerock - we broke up a couple years ago. i'm not really a motorhead at all but it was fun while it lasted.

Rough draft for a portion of a full length piece of background music, Satie / Eno etc. inspired.

poppyseed is A+++

wilter, Wednesday, 14 October 2009 09:46 (sixteen years ago)

I'm putting December on a b-day mix I'm sending home to my gf, and it totally sticks out like a sore thumb among the likes of Tom T. Hall and Red Sovine but I have decided this and it can not be un-decided.

a╓by's (╓abies), Friday, 16 October 2009 07:13 (sixteen years ago)

That's a lie I may in fact un-decide and go with Boys Go To Jupiter.

a╓by's (╓abies), Friday, 16 October 2009 07:15 (sixteen years ago)

This is an early sketch for an instrumental track (though it might not stay that way). I recorded it on my own, but might alter it a bit with the band. See if you can spot the sample (drums n horns)....

congratulations (n/a), Tuesday, 20 October 2009 18:55 (sixteen years ago)

been working on this song, my first experiment with reason ... can't tell if it sounds cool or if it needs more stuff in the instrumental bits or if the mix is weird

http://scarequotes.net/mp3/crowdsurfing.mp3

congratulations (n/a), Friday, 23 October 2009 17:24 (sixteen years ago)

sonderangerbot is there anyway I can d/l that w/o going through weird flash stuff? It doesn't wanna play nice with my browser or broadband provider or something or another, not sure what's up really.
