what would be the most effective and beneficial way for someone to buy a fine pedal from good friend jjjusten?

ours is a custom piece - metallic red with tortoise guard, tortoise headstock overlay, bound neck, and pearl block inlays.

Got it, pondering possibilities. Out of curiosity, and since I won't be back in the shop until tomorrow, have you ever looked at the Dr. Scientist BitQuest, or the Devi Ever Bit Mangler?

Not really in the market for anything fuzz-distortion-y at the moment, already running with a WMD Geiger Counter which gives me more choices than I could wish for in that area.

I'm thinking of something that maybe does a bit octaving and modulation, maybe like the Arpanoid or the Rainbow Machine? Maybe the Ravish Sitar could fit the bill? You see where I'm coming from?

Maybe something also semi-random in the control, like an optic sensor (like Devi used to fit in a couple of pedals)? Ability to tweak settings during play also v desirable.

I guess this is a good enough place to ask as any, but my Boss DS distortion pedal has as far as I can remember made the overall sound of my guitar quieter when I switch it on. Always thought it was a weird inherent compression thing and it was supposed to do this, but a sound engineer took a look and said this was definitely not supposed to happen. Anyone know what could be causing this?? Should I look into getting it repaired? I do run it after a compressor pedal, but this shouldn't be happening all the same, right?

It appears to be a common issue. Is it the case for a variety of guitar pick-ups?

How is the volume (and master volume?) of your amp set? If there's little/no headroom, turning on the distortion might result in a volume drop; that is, the inherent compression thing might be in your amp rather than the pedal.

The same thing happened to me using a Yardbox fuzz with my Boogie MkIV; I don't remember exactly how the amp was configured (and it has like 4000 knobs and switches), but adjusting it for more headroom fixed the problem.

I'm digging this current wave of open-source sound-wibbling. The patch library (and demo videos) are damn impressive. I can't fund $400 on another sound-masher and I certainly can't take on another new programming language when I'm already dealing with three. I hope someone in these parts gets some face time with one.

Oh holy crap, I didn't realize their wah was actually called a Ben-Wah.

Why do pedal manufacturers think it's a good idea to attach big rubber feet to the bottoms of them? trying to attach these to a pedal board is a ballache. Should be an easier way to remove them than having to peel them off then use white spirit to get the tape on.

I have a weird crush on Andy from ProGuitarShop. I was in their store in Portland last time I was there and was kind of sad that he wasn't actually there.

xp I don't know - when he's demoing pedals he never actually shows the amp. So he could be lying, like the kid at school who claimed to have "every Nintendo console ever made", but then wouldn't let you go round their house to check them out.

It'd be funny if he actually didn't have any of these amps, and the whole time he's been running into a Line 6 Pod.

And to bring it back to actual pedal talk, I can't really imagine anything less useful than a Muff Fuzz that goes straight into another Muff Fuzz with nothing in between, but somehow Peter sells it.

It is twice the muff fuzz. Immediately.

its actually not two fuzz circuits, the original muff is a gnarly sorta overdrive. stacking them is actually really cool, it's one of the sleeper pedals in the eh line, or at least it was when it was in the big box, the new ones suffer from ehx nano failure rate disease.

I wonder if anybody can help me track down a pedal, a couple of weeks back an ad popped up on my FB page with a cool looking pedal that had a whole cassette tape mechanism built into it, I only caught a glimpse as I was clicking through and it's never returned to my feed.
