wow, that primitive sounds great

i have srs problems w/the pricing on zvex stuff and (no offense to your friend) kind of a knee jerk negative reaction to the whole handpainted pedal thing. Screenprints on pedals can look super cool, why you gotta make it a l33t one of a kind artisnal blah blah imo.

yeah i dunno much about them. all that shit is way out of my price range, still for her as an artist/music gear geek it's a dream job...and they look cool as hell, she just posted one they made for nels cline:

oh her stuff looks super cool, and i get that people want their shit to look cool (for example i am sure that some of the stuff i stock wouldn't sell nearly as well w/o having grabber graphics and w/e.) really my issue is with the pricing on zvex stuff in general. if i have a pedal that costs $300, it better do some pretty amazing stuff.

just got contacted by these dudes:
http://www.elreyfx.com/index.html
anybody heard anything good/bad/indifferent abt them? idk that i really need more fuzz in here considering ive got 35 or 40 at the moment, but i always dig it when someone finds us and makes the first move.
― O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Monday, 11 March 2013 15:43 (thirteen years ago)
So I really want to know - have you ever hooked all 35 or 40 up in a row? What would happen?

anybody know anything about these dudes - http://www.tsvgpedals.com/? Also putting out initial feelers to mojohand and would be curious about what people think about them. http://www.mojohandfx.com/
― O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Wednesday, 13 March 2013 17:06 (thirteen years ago)
iirc mojo hand brad is a good guy and folks seem to dig their fuzzes and the analog filter.
he was also the business guy behind the legendary-to-me Ultra Lord Fuzz. Man I shoulda grabbed one of those when I should...
― inste grammophon (rogermexico.), Wednesday, 13 March 2013 17:50 (thirteen years ago)
ok another one - anybody have a chance to actually hear any of the mooer micro pedals?
― O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Friday, 22 March 2013 19:39 (thirteen years ago)
they sound like cows

Walrus' stuff is so great. Just ordered a Voyager from them - can't wait to get back home to try it out.
― Elvis Telecom, Thursday, 28 March 2013 23:17 (thirteen years ago)
new analog delay from ibanez (the es2) just showed up and it is totally fucking amazing. 30-1000 ms analog delay with tap tempo, modulation, and a feedback switch for $150 street - it's pretty unbeatable and all of you should buy it.
― My Chemical Romance did 9/11 (jjjusten), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 22:08 (thirteen years ago)
ha I was going to revive this thread to say a public THANK YOU for the TARDIS blue pedal upthread, which I am buying a cable for tonight
― relentless technosexuality (DJP), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 22:25 (thirteen years ago)
Yeah, the Ibanez looks/sounds dope.
I love love love that DJP just dove right into straight small-batch pedal geekery. No mass produced Eddie Van Halen-endorsed crap for this dude.
― how's life, Wednesday, 10 April 2013 22:59 (thirteen years ago)
no problem man! i will sell pedals to all these ilxors.
i just spent the last hour with that ibanez. it's a complete game changer.
― My Chemical Romance did 9/11 (jjjusten), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 23:14 (thirteen years ago)
between this and the echorec idk why people would ever buy anything else. seriously.
game changer.
argh this phrase
― Im am... gobsacked (electricsound), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 23:19 (thirteen years ago)
but i am v interested in this ibanez
yeah, the echorec is still way out of my price range, but the ibanez is... still way out of my price range this month at least, but a lot closer to my budget, but very impressive given other entries in that price range.
― how's life, Wednesday, 10 April 2013 23:20 (thirteen years ago)
price range x 3
haha i agree on the game changer phrase but i couldnt think of any other way to put it. the oscillation is bizarrely pitch shift based instead of being a chorus, so on extreme settings it sweeps maybe 5 half steps above and below the original signal. never heard a $150 pedal with this much crazy built into it, esp when you throw an oscillation mode and a tap tempo in there.
in other news, sold a henretta choad blaster to a guy today for use on bass and it sounded fantastic.
― My Chemical Romance did 9/11 (jjjusten), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 23:37 (thirteen years ago)
you sold a what
― relentless technosexuality (DJP), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 23:41 (thirteen years ago)
is that even legal
― relentless technosexuality (DJP), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 23:42 (thirteen years ago)
i was hoping that said chord blaster.
― how's life, Wednesday, 10 April 2013 23:44 (thirteen years ago)
haha he makes one with the same guts named a chord blaster for people who get weirded out by the name.

did i mention that one of his endorsers is Charlie Singleton, the lead guitarist for CAMEO. who says endorsements can't be cool as hell.
― My Chemical Romance did 9/11 (jjjusten), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 23:52 (thirteen years ago)
i want to hear reports on the mad doctor stutter once dan gets a cord. just fyi, the rate and ratio controls are supposed to be highly interactive, so don't get freaked out when that happens (like i did until i talked to the dude from idiotbox).
― My Chemical Romance did 9/11 (jjjusten), Wednesday, 10 April 2013 23:55 (thirteen years ago)
Last weekend I had a chance to try out the Earthquaker Organizer and ended up picking it up. Amazingly great sound, but am not quite sure that it works well with others.
FWIW, my pedal line looks like this now: http://www.flickr.com/photos/quartzcity/8629222231/ - I suspect I'm a couple of steps closer to being one of those "One Man Ambient Guitar Band Guys On The Internet" dudes now. I can see how being a pedal geek pokes out of the same area of the brain that gets people into collecting Magic cards. Sounds righteous though.
― Elvis Telecom, Thursday, 11 April 2013 02:47 (thirteen years ago)
Have you tried it in front of the fuzz?
― My Chemical Romance did 9/11 (jjjusten), Thursday, 11 April 2013 03:50 (thirteen years ago)
Just thinking that the odd harmonic stuff rolling out of lunar module might go a little wacky when run through the organizer. Is the skreddy buffered tho?
Oh yeah geek talk, it's ON
― My Chemical Romance did 9/11 (jjjusten), Thursday, 11 April 2013 03:52 (thirteen years ago)
Still testing... will report back soon.
― Elvis Telecom, Thursday, 18 April 2013 22:49 (thirteen years ago)
so...if anybody had any questions on the mooer pedals, i just got a shipment of 14 of them.
― O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Wednesday, 29 May 2013 17:57 (thirteen years ago)

Which is the one that Sonic Youth makes fun of in 1991: The Year Punk Broke?
― how's life, Wednesday, 29 May 2013 23:17 (thirteen years ago)
probably the grunge pedal from dod, which is worth basically nothing in the collector market
― O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Wednesday, 29 May 2013 23:40 (thirteen years ago)
these mooer pedals are BADASS by the way, i knew they would be cool and small and cheap, but i didnt expect them to sound nearly this good irl. def exceed the hamfisted youtube demos floating around out there
― O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Wednesday, 29 May 2013 23:41 (thirteen years ago)
you are making me want to bring my guitar back out to MN so I can play around with these things
