Trying to make crazy footwork music out of vintage ska samples. Not sure I've got the hang of it yet.

started doing a bit of djing at parties again and making these long lindstromy transition tracks with only analog synth samples and live desk/controller automation. Would love to invest in better gear so I could do full sets of it but currently having to go through 5 or 6 times to get it right.

Yeah I've got loads more. When I finish off a few other projects I might stick them up as a packaged download somewhere.

I've been incredibly prolific music-wise since I moved away from my computer with FL studio and realized I can make better tracks on Audacity alone (!)

This is my last outing (a kind of remix of Mr. Me Too by Clipse) and is probably among the more interesting examples of non dancey stuff I've made (though the intro is kind of stupid).

Sorry because this is probably the wrong thread for this, but I want a decent controller pad under $200 and was thinking of going with the Alesis Controlpad Percussion Control Pad. Any better recommendations?

hmm, that looks cool, but i think the pads are probably too small (i want to integrate the pad surfaces into my drum setup so that i can just kind of whack a pad on occasion without having to aim for a tiny surface)

i guess if you already have a laptop, one of those alesis pad controllers is way cheaper than getting a roland spd-s.

if anyone wants to use some of my vocals on their tracks, let me know. my voice is kind of soulflexible, it would be good for some things that i do not know how to produce myself. thanks.

re: pads, the video game rock drum pads/controllers that sometimes are very cheap on clearance are electronically identical to alesis/roland edrum pads (they are just these very cheap components surrounded by rubber padding), and sometimes interchangeable even without adapters, and the adapter is usually a 1/8" -> 1/4" if there is one.
