It's really confusing now. I couldn't do it for 3 days. You go to account at the top blue task bar where log out used to be and you click on it. Log Out should be the last item in that list.

I don't know how to do that...This is so annoying. Not that getting off there wouldn't be a good thing in the long run, but short-term, not good at all.

I idiotically added an extra email account to my fb about a decade ago and let the email expire. last week someone signed up to mail.com with the same username, logged into my account, posted sth so awful that my account was blocked within 10 minutes, and now I think I'm locked out forever, it says they will review it but fuck knows what it was, so no chance there.

The thing I really don't understand is that why I am getting this while none of the three friends I've contacted have even heard about it? I'm finding online articles about it, so it is real, but I don't understand why everyone wouldn't get the same notice.

I thought I got it because I was an admin for a few of my company's publication pages. My "profile has a large audience!" Haha, yeah, ok.

Again, I don't have a cell phone and don't want one. I've used two-step verification before where they send a code to my e-mail address, or I identify recent comments, but they're not an option right now. I can choose "Authentication app," "Text message," or "Security key." None of them work on a desktop, or I'm not doing the right things.

I've seen the thing about having a large audience too, which my page most definitely does not. I've sent two e-mails this morning, but I know that getting a response is like playing the lottery.

Again, there are ways to get a phone number without having a cellphone. Assuming that it'd be the same for Canada as it is in the U.S. since we're all on the NANP. Just gotta ask yourself how badly you want to log into Facebook.

By "get a phone number," I'm not sure what you mean. I have a land line, of course, but I tried that for the activation process and it didn't work. Do you mean ways to get a cell-phone number without actually having one? Even if that's possible, how would I then retrieve the text message?
