save time by not typing "haha" & "heh", & i'll give up my own annoying stylistic tic of yr choice! (serious!)

doorag, Monday, 5 January 2004 09:42 (seventeen years ago) link

yeah, i'm trying to get over the whole fetishisation-of-teenagerhood thing.

x-post : this will take some thought.

etc, Monday, 5 January 2004 09:44 (seventeen years ago) link

& it has to be something you actually find annoying!! you can't say something i do is annoying just cause i [vice versa] ok!

doorag, Monday, 5 January 2004 10:15 (seventeen years ago) link

actually i probably don't even write enough to have "annoying" "stylistic" "tics" so this is just dumm & you should keep saying "haha" & "heh" as much as you want

actually i've realised the solution to all my probs is to dress QUEENY-EMO.
ps duane did you know yr "a provocative aesthete" according to the big new nz music book? & i heard yr track on a dirtlove sampler tape thing, nice proto-p-money vox!

oh someone told me about that quote in that bk, have you read it? i'll wait til (if) the public library gets it i guess

duane, Tuesday, 6 January 2004 23:19 (seventeen years ago) link

i've sorta skim-read it. it's pretty horrible with all the 90s stuff, he calls bressa creeting cake a grunge band, & he's got no idea about anything electronic at all (he does this weird "i'm inventing a genre" thing & calls pitch black neurofunk!!!!!!). my copy's from the public library, so you should be able to get yr hands on a copy no worries.

S I sent you a package via E, I hope she doesn't mind, with a Trasch cassette an old factsheet five and a CDR with Clinic and the Wedding Present's seamonsters (which doesn't go v. well after the Clinic and has no tracklisting with it, sorry)

I still haven't decided if I'm going to look back on last year as a vile waste of my youth, or if I'm going to wish that I spent more years that way.

Minty (Minty), Friday, 9 January 2004 01:15 (seventeen years ago) link

Possibly both.

Minty (Minty), Friday, 9 January 2004 01:16 (seventeen years ago) link

The package arrived the other day, so yeah I'll get it to you sometime.

I don't know if Queeny-Emo works, given that a pretty big precept of EMONESS is an at least superficial appearance of nerdish asexuality, me and E. were wondering about this

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Friday, 9 January 2004 14:50 (seventeen years ago) link

ah, 'kay, fair 'nuff. just been talking to sri, & she's totally about the kontakts, so maybe i'll try & swing that. otherwise tried on alf1e's wireframes, & they looked pretty good (in a german architect typa way - i was all "ja, the krautrock, ja, kaan & noi & foust" & he chided me for my can pronunciation, o well. also a1mee is trying to assemble a vaguely-normalised emo-outfit for me, so, y'know, wtf?

etc, Friday, 9 January 2004 14:54 (seventeen years ago) link

Can is an English word, was he being funny?

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Friday, 9 January 2004 14:57 (seventeen years ago) link

i was the one prouncing can in a horribly affected german accent, so he had, y'know, justification.

etc, Friday, 9 January 2004 14:58 (seventeen years ago) link

so what are your plans for 2004, esskay? still thinking of moving?
